Do you like to shop? Duh, you read this blog. Do you have some areas of your home that still need a little something? Of course you do, everyone does. Well then mark your calendars for October 21st because Look Linger Love’s Light & Bright curated shopping collection on Joss & Main will go live at 9 pm EST.

When Joss & Main first invited me to curate a collection a few months ago I was excited to begin choosing my favorites from around their site. I’ve been a Joss & Main member since they opened up shop in 2010 and feel really honored to be a small part of it. Some of my long time readers may remember that Joss & Main asked me to help get the word out about their site with a giveaway.

My Light & Bright collection is just that, an array of items hand chosen to help your space feel cheery and, well, light and bright :)

Joss & Main is a members only shopping site, so if you aren’t already a member you can just click here for a special Look Linger Love instant invitation (so that you don’t get wait listed).

Cool, so we’re all members now? All that’s left to do is to save the date — October 21st. The sale will be live for only 72 hours and things can sell out quick. Beginning the count down to the LLL sale in 5…4…3…2…1…
some look linger love fine print — it’s joss & main’s custom
to give all of their curators a small commission and referral fee.
what does this mean? i’ll make some buck from this sale.
thanks mucho.

Slowly but surely, I’ve finished 3 more paintings. Hopefully another one coming soon too.

I get asked about my inspiration a lot. This series was inspired by this glass house I’ve had pinned for awhile. So neat.

Wednesday greetings to you all.

We’re getting into the Halloween spirit around here.

I decorated for the Home Depot Holiday Challenge that I mentioned on Friday and then quickly took it down before everyone thought we were nuts. Up went the bats. I like them. I still need to get it organized with some pumpkins and fall flowers (and a prettier doorbell ringer). Really taken with Sarah’s porch. Isn’t it beautiful?
I had such a good weekend. We spent a good majority of it outside and strolling around the neighborhood with the kids. Friday I had quite a few really great emails land into my inbox. One of which was from a reader introducing herself, she’s a neighbor! I decided to host a little impromptu porch drinks night with a couple of my new neighbors that I’ve met thanks to the blog. And by host I mean I just invited them over, very laid back. Such fun. Saturday night Josh and I walked down the street for dinner, a great date night complete with Sambuca after dinner.
I had a coffee meeting downtown Friday morning and snapped this photo from our table. I had never noticed the owls up there. Fun and quirky, and just feels like fall. ** Update – Apparently owl statues are used to scare away birds that would otherwise crap on the building and people (Josh’s words). Thanks Josh. **
Enjoy your Monday.

We’re finally getting around to setting up our guest bedroom. It’s getting there. Need to find some drapes yet. Which reminds me, I have a few things that don’t quite work in this house- especially drapes. If y’all are interested I might list some of them on here. Anyway, here’s the bed.

I love this brass bed, it was in Josh’s family. And if I didn’t already have the white quilt I would have purchased this coverlet. I’m kinda obsessed with it and click on it regularly. That fun throw I have at the bottom is from ABC Home. Could also be a wall hanging, love a good versatile piece. We have pretty much nothing on the walls in our house. Haven’t gotten to that task quite yet.
While I was in Chicago over the weekend, Josh planted all of the plants in our flower boxes. These things are about 6 feet long and there are 4 of them. It was a big job. I think they look awesome and can’t wait for them to grow in some. We planted Ghost flowers, coral bells, camellias, and ivy. I can’t remember the name of those fun light green bushy plants. Who can help me out here? ** Edit – they’re Foxtails, thanks Kate! **
Fletcher is all about chasing his sister around or just plain running into her. It’s hilarious really. Maybe only I think it’s funny?
I went bra shopping last night. I hate bra shopping. This is how I feel about it.
I can’t believe I’m sharing that. I went to Victoria’s Secret b/c it’s convenient. Most of their bras are absolute crap on me. I do like the Showstopper though. It supports me but doesn’t make me look bigger than I am. For lounging around the house I really love Bali’s Comfort Revolution bras. They have a new underwire style in this collection that I’m dying to try too.
This weekend I’m working on my Home Depot Holiday Style Challenge (read about it and all the bloggers participating here). I’m decorating my front door for their website. I’m certain all my new neighbors will think I’m kooky when they walk by and see me putting up Christmas stuff in October. I think I’ll need to put up signs in the yard to explain what’s up.
Happy Weekend!

Let’s say you needed a live in nanny, an au pair. Would you hire this girl?

No, I’m not hiring an au pair. But I did recently come upon the most gorgeous au pair I’ve ever laid eyes on. She was a 10, in her early twenties, sweet, funny, and had a swedish accent. I don’t lie. And she lived with a family as their au pair. I find this very interesting and bold on the wife’s part. What do you think? Would you hire a bombshell to live in your home and help you and your husband take care of the children? On one hand, you have a happy and healthy marriage. On the other hand, do you want to put the temptation in your home?

Just curious. Please talk amongst yourselves.

Last week I, along with some other gown loving romantics, heeled up and headed down to LulaKate’s new showroom on King Street for their spring runway show event.

Katherine McDonald’s bridal collection is easily a southern girl’s favorite, but it’s also a brand that has become well regarded nationwide. Southern girl talent. Aren’t those dresses up there dreamy?? Charleston Weddings Magazine editor Melissa Bigner (left) thinks so.
Here I am with my friend Haskell Harris. Isn’t she the cutest?

Note Squeeze’s bartender’s curly ‘stache. Love it.

The show was simply gorgeous, featuring gowns with beautiful detail. Here are a few of my favorite dresses.

The bridesmaid collection is crazy fabulous too. Really perfect for allowing maids to pick a silhouette that’s right for them. Hallelujah. Congrats on yet another gorgeous collection, LulaKate!! Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to celebrate with you.
