When people ask me when they should visit Charleston I always tell them during Spoleto or Jubilee. Spoleto spans from May 27th to June 12th this year (perfect time of year weather wise) and it’s packed with the best performance schedule I’ve seen them put out yet. So I wanted to give all of you a heads up so you can get your tickets and and make your plans!

This Kate Spade feather top is so much fun to wear! I wore it to a Christmas party last month, and it’s great for dinner out, too! It can be tough to find fun and warm tops to wear in the winter so this one is all the much better for solving that problem.

So here below you can get a peek at my Christmas gift to myself, the Jane Pope diamond ring. Wanted it for what feels like forever. And that silver bangle is a FLASK! Isn’t that hilarious? Josh gave it to me for Christmas – I love a good conversation piece!

My blue Chanel flap bag – big love for this. And it matches my blue pumps perfectly!! :) As far as classic pumps go these by J.Crew are one of my most favorites!

I guess it’s been awhile since I’ve done a life lately because I’m reaching as far back as Christmas! I’m lame, sorry.

So for Christmas we flew up to Kentucky and Indiana to spend time with my side of the family. Always fun to get up there and see everyone.

I feel like I saw a lot of people in my instagram feed playing the pie face game over the holidays… any of y’all? The kids absolutely love it. Get it.

What I probably love most about being up there with my family is seeing the kids play with their cousins. Wish they could hang all the time. Btw isn’t my niece’s pink bed adorable??

Tradition is Josh and I and my brother and his wife head to French Lick for a night of gambling. The West Baden Hotel was built in 1902 and is truly beautiful. It’s a circular building with a large dome – we actually studied it during one of my courses at Indiana University (way back when).

This blush Rimowa suitcase is one of my most favorite gifts this year – you all might remember I mentioned that it was on my wish list! It’s light as a feather and super durable!

Fringe sweater dress (obsessed, great with black leggings too), pink & red ornament clutch, and black pumps.

Spent a night at the beach with friends – what a view! Wish I could wake up to this every day.

Can any of y’all tell me WHY men must shave a ridiculous mustache when they shave off their beard? I lived with this for about 3 days…

We spent NYE at home with the kids and it was wonderful. I was the only one awake at midnight and I missed the countdown because I had my nose in a book :)

My big pocket sweater dress and Charleston rice beads necklace.

Beautiful sunny King Street here in Charleston!

IMG_5196

It’s soup season over here – loving my new Staub cocotte in white!

IMG_5027

Bright and pretty in Lilly’s bathroom… Target shower curtain and Dash & Albert stripe rug.

IMG_5121

My good friend Liz came to town with her family so naturally I took them to XBB! Favorite. I dream about that spicy tofu with pork bolognese dish.

When your shoes match your bag!! My blue suede pumps are available here!

IMG_4917-2

And I’m finally getting to pull out some of my favorite new scarves! This one is from Mignonne Gavigan. Also, my navy trench is currently on sale, and so is my J. McLaughlin zip tote!

Soooo many cute new arrivals happening right now! Is January one of your favorite months to shop, too?

Desktop115

stripe dress, denim shorts, stone necklace, grey cardi, white coverup,

plaid top, cut out dress, burst earrings, jacquard cardi, white blouse,

violet dress, black sweater, crystal earrings, fringe bag, off shoulder top

You know how hard it is to find great cut off shorts? Well I found them – I just got those denim shorts and they fit well and aren’t too short!! So happy (and by the way I almost always order up a size in shorts). Also awaiting the delivery of that cute white coverup! That asymmetrical black sweater is really nice! And that lilac dress would be a flattering and non typical color to wear this spring. Of course I’m especially drawn to that swingy black dress with the cut outs.

I recently ordered this Steven Alan shirtdress because (1) shirtdresses are kinda my thing  (2) I’d been searching for a great black one and (3) and this one has that timeless look to me. Plus it’s 30% off and I can wear it day and night :)

This is a white house with blue shutters dream, don’t you think?! Reminds me of Allie from The Notebook.

1-8-16_shirtdress_scarves-1-2 1-8-16_shirtdress_scarves-3-3

This leather clutch is by my friend Caroline at Matine. She is crazy talented – I’ve been a customer of hers for at least 4 years I bet! She used to make these cute acrylic trays (that I still have on my vanity) as well as paint dipped coffee mugs (that I still drink out of!). And her leather handbag collection is really just so good, I’ve written about them a few times. This is my first one!

And of course my Alexander Wang pointed pumps because as far as high heels go these are are one of my most comfortable (and versatile) pairs.

1-8-16_shirtdress_scarves-11-2

Highly recommend scooping up this black shirtdress while it’s on sale! More of my shirtdress favorites include this stripe dress, this relaxed silk dress, and this gingham one.

alexander wang black pumps (also here),
