2013, overall, was a great year. It was most notably the year that gave me a better perspective on life – how precious it is and to not take any moment for granted. To appreciate simply being, along with all the good & exciting things that come along with being – such a valuable lesson that enhances my day to day.

If you follow my instagram over there on the right sidebar then you may have already seen this, but I wanted to share my 2013 reflections video right here as well. Don’t blink.

Ending 2013 with a Shopbop sale… an extra 25% off all sale items sounds about right to me! Here are a few of my sale favorites…

As sure as I’m typing this post gladiator sandals will be, without a doubt, big this spring. Any of these greek inspired flats would be a wise investment of Grandma’s Christmas cash. I recommend grabbing a pair with a little extra detail. Sigerson Morrison’s aisley gladiators are easily my favorite pair this season – feminine and fashion forward while remaining classic and neutral.

The Steve Madden plato sandal is a great look for less and comes in 6 colors. And Tory Burch’s lucas flat is my favorite basic black gladiator. Also, Loeffler Randall’s entire spring shoe collection is their best yet, while not gladiators I’m obsessed with these.

How are you all? I took a little break from blogging while I was visiting with my family in Indiana and Kentucky. It was such a wonderful trip. We got back to Charleston today and feels so good to be home. I plan to enjoy the Christmas decorations for a few more days before packing it up. And I’m trying to wrap my head around NYE being next week!! This year a friend of ours is hosting a party and I need to make some wardrobe decisions. Are you in the same boat? It sneaks up every year.

I love that you can get dressed up all pretty and festive even if your NYE party is casual. This year I’m really into menswear inspired looks. A tuxedo inspired frock just makes sense on such an occassion.

It’s also totally cool to dress up some party pants (it is likely going to be cold outside after all). Rompers are a really great way to get a sleek and festive party look.

If you’re playing NYE pretty casual, consider picking up a fun, new top to throw on with your favorite jeans.

And it’s always fun to show a little leg while ringing in the new year.
