I’ve only written one sentence of this post and I already love it so much. Friday is off to a cool start. Here are just a few things that have been going on…

THRILLED to be featured on Southern Living.

Not my best picture but who the hell cares. Southern Living is talking about my outfit. For those interested, I’m wearing a Troubadour top, these yellow pants (currently on sale), this Givenchy bag, and J.Crew heels. Thanks for the love, SL!

I spotted an awesome Turkish rug source on Tobe’s blog (get it?). I snatched up this bright one right then and there. Can’t wait for her to arrive.
There are a bunch of good ones. Here’s another that someone should grab.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After out clicking to a skirt that Gaby blogged about, I immediately wanted to punch her in the face (love you Gab). It was $2k. But I found a cute alternative for a lot less. Alright, so it’s not a maxi skirt, but it’s a really cute “live in me all summer” kind of dress. And it’s only $46.
I’m a liiiiittle into scallop edging right now.
And I feel like these scalloped hem shorts just might be the perfect addition to my growing collection – it’s all in the details. They come in yellow, too, and are priced well at $70.
Alright, this post is random enough that I’ll throw in this sloppy joe recipe. It is crazy good y’all. If you want a throwback to your childhood, or at least mine, I highly recommend you make it soon.
And that’s all, guys. I hope you have a happy Easter weekend :)
One of my most favorite things to do is walk into my closet, get creative, and come out feeling proud. Usually it’s inspired by something I’ve seen on a fashion blog or Pinterest. But last week was a little different in that I was inspired by a menswear party I had attended the night before.
Admittedly, I’ve worn this little bow tie necklace before. But I had forgotten all about it!! Poor thing had been buried in my jewelry/accessory drawer. It’s nothing special, just a ten dollar children’s bow tie from a men’s tux shop that I’ve looped onto a chain I had laying around. But the effect was awesome in that I was asked about it all night.
What about that party I mentioned? You may have seen a few of my instagrams – Social Primer held it’s SP Smoking debut at the Charleston Library Society last week. From the looks of it when we pulled up, we knew it would be grand inside.
I’m not sure where he found his models but my guess is college campuses and CFW would have done well to snatch up a few of them. It was quite the mysterious and theatrical event. It got even more interesting when I ducked down to the basement for the SP Smoking (hot!) tuxedo collection’s photo shoot.
All the while, guests are partying it up just one floor above. This collection is due for fall but you can check out Social Primer’s current collection at Brooks Brothers here.
PS – that fun & wild dress I’m wearing up top (underneath my raincoat) can be found on sale here!
Whether you’re heading somewhere tropical or just dreaming of it (ahem), here are some no fail warm weather styles that fit the comfort and cute sunny day criteria. Starting with that string bikini and it’s perfect little pop of neon.
Reversible string bikini (you have to see the other side!) and I love the coordinating cover up too.
Flamingo print dress – hot pink and orange flamingos y’all, just $75!
Cross body mini bag – warm weather essential! Carry everywhere.
Metallic stripe maxi dress – Maybe my favorite maxi yet- that gauzy skirt is flowy & dreeeeamy.
Denim cutoffs in a plethora of pretty colors.
Coral lace dress that has the cutest little tiny cutout in the back. Bonus flattering silhouette.
Slubby stripe tee – pretty much the perfect lightweight tee. Lots of pretty colors too.
Strappy sandals in pretty peony, blush, and fuchsia hues. Only $30. Yep, only $30.
Again, there’s that stripey guazy goodness
Last week I attended The Well Coiffed Closet’s Charleston launch party at Hampden Clothing. Elizabeth Gumb recently joined Megan Evans to expand their personal styling services. I see good things ahead for these ladies.
I, naturally, jumped on the opportunity to practice my Angelina pose.
If you want to be like Angelina too (minus the husband stealing shady part), you can find this dress here. But maybe this dress is all wrong on me. At the party the girls were reading color stories, and I learned that I look best in spring tone colors. So from this I gather that I should probably add a bunch of springy colored frocks to my wardrobe…
Whew. Feeling much better.
Congrats on the expansion Megan and Elizabeth. And I’ll have another party recap that inspired my Saturday night attire coming up this week!
Thanks for the party pics, Charlotte Elizabeth!
Oh man am I ever loving Leah Reena Goren’s etsy shop. What a pure delight.
She’s an illustrator and surface pattern designer out of Brooklyn. Such a talent.
Upon digging further and finding her website, I wondered if there was anything that Leah Goren couldn’t do? You should really see for yourself.
Sidenote, Charleston Fashion Week ended Saturday with Afriyie Poku winning the emerging designer competition. Also, Christian Siriano showed his gorgeous ballet inspired Fall 2013 collection.
Read my thoughts on how it all wrapped up here.
This week has been a frenzy of fashion and parties. It’s Charleston Fashion Week so the town is busy. I have been, too. Hanging with friends at parties…
With the exquisite Haskell Harris
Chilling with Cynthia Rowley… (I’m in love with her bonded leggings)
And yep, attending the shows, too. Read my really honest recap of the first couple of CFW nights here!!!
I hope to see more of you local readers this weekend. I’m super proud to say that every single LLL reader who has come up to introduce herself to me has been smokin’ hot and the best dressed at the shows. I feel, like, so proud. Like I have something to do with it (I know I don’t). It’s like I’m your momma hen and you’re my chicks. HA. Or maybe I’m still feeling last night’s champagne…
