You all might remember that I mentioned I’m contributing to Charleston Magazine’s new site, Charleston Grit. Well the launch party was last week (SO much fun!) and while I was there I met another Grit contributer, interior designer Cortney Bishop. The next morning a few images of her work showed up in my inbox and well I just have to share. (Btw I get a load of stuff in my inbox and I rarely ever do anything with it so this is legit good stuff ya’ll.) Seeing as how I’m in the middle of the renovation of our next home, I’m all about some pretty design inspiration.

Sweetest little girly bedroom…

Gorgeous bath…
Love the oversized photograph.
And I pretty much adore everything about this office.
I love discovering pretty new spaces, don’t you?
You can see more of Cortney’s portfolio here. Seriously good.

Have any of you started planning for your fall wardrobe? If you’re ahead of the curve you purchase spring and summer items with fall in mind. Well, last week I had the pleasure of joining The Fashion Group International of Charleston for their review on 2012’a Fall/Winter Runway Trends.

Emceed by Rosanna Krekel (in yellow, FGI Charleston), with a panel consisting of Stacy Smallwood (Hampden Clothing), Edward Cortese (Departure’s Magazine), Cator Sparks (Lookbooks.com), and Karen Giberson (The Accessories Council), the evening was spent discussing what will make it off the runway and to, well, us.

Following the presentation of the 2012 Fall/Winter runway shows, Stacy Smallwood was asked what she plans to bring to her clients in her Hampden Clothing store. Among her answers were the color burgundy, leather leggings, longer hem lines, print on print suits, and colorful statement necklaces.

I have to say, I’m all about some burgundy too…

Oh, and don’t forget a little bomber jacket. :)

For those of you in NYC and Charleston who are looking to get involved in the fashion scene, check out Fashion Group International. Such a great resource with some fun events planned ahead :)

 Happy Friday!

Have you discovered Sister Jane’s collection? Adorable, unique, trendy, and available through ASOS.

Isn’t it so cute? I have this white lace dress and absolutely adore it. I would recommend ordering a size down.
{Sorry for the blurry instagram.}
So anyway, I want to add more of the collection to my wardrobe sometime. So cute! Any other lines I need to know about?

While running out for some pressed powder and a new lipstick yesterday evening I dropped into Ann Taylor (one of my new regular drop in spots since they revamped their image and opened up at the shopping center right by my house). My friend Natalie had told me about their 40% off sale. Off you entire purchase that is. And no, you don’t need to be a card member.

There are so many cute things in their current collection, and I came home with this Spotted Peplum Dress thanks to the 40% promo! Let me tell you that this is the most flattering dress you’ve put on in years. Being that I just had a baby, I have a “soft body” :) and this dress is the perfect thick stretchy material that sucks you in and smooths you out. I feel like a freaking goddess in this dress. I haven’t showered yet today (or I would have put it on for these pictures & none of you deserve to see that mess….) But here it is. Go buy it. Trust me.

And look, the dress has an adorable subtle peplum :) It’s so freaking cute and I’ll be wearing it year round. And fyi if you order, I bought the petite and a size down.
More pretties that are deserving of your closets…

And did you see that Kate Hudson is their new brand ambassador? She’s so gorgeous.

So they just extended this 40% promotion and for all I know it could end in like an hour because it was supposed to end Sunday night. So go now!
