Good Monday Morning! We’ve been doing some construction on our front entry and the stairs have finally finished! They used to do this tight wonky turn and you’d enter from the right side of this porch. We nixed that and added the stairs out the front! The whole front isn’t done yet, BUT it did feel good to go get some plants for this space and a new door mat! Since the porch is so small I needed a doormat that could handle all the weather and I am SO excited about my Rope Co rug! The plants are Birds of Paradise, one of my favorite plants ever, and we’ve had the planters for a while but these textured terracotta planters are nearly identical! This is our Emtek door hardware that I love! And our gas lanterns are from Circa Lighting. We aren’t sure why they are so black on the glass, if anyone has any ideas…

If your entry needs a good zhush here are some fun ideas!

hanging woven porch swing, black chippendale ceramic planter,

hangling lantern light, lavender wreath, house numbers, terracotta planter,

star doorbell, woven lanterns, woven doormat, black mailbox,

wooden planter, rope co waterproof doormat, woven bench

Oh how I miss my front porch swing bed. So many great ideas here to make a nice first impression!

Can you all believe that Halloween is so close? I love this time of year when all the festive holidays begin. I managed to get our bats back up this year (never got around to it last year) and am so glad I did because it makes the kids so happy! And it really takes no time at all to put them up.

Late last year I enlisted the help of my good friend Olivia Brock, of the fabulous blog Lacquered Life and founder of Torrance Mitchell Designs, to help me find the perfect shade of pink for my front door. Olivia is an historic preservationist, color guru/expert, and spectacular eating/drinking buddy here in Charleston, and I couldn’t help but abuse our friendship for a little help :)

You might remember my door used to be a minty teal color. I liked that color, but I had wanted pink all along. When we took on our home project nearly 4 years ago it was a big renovation (gutting and adding on), so there were many, many decisions to be made. I had to pick my battles with Josh, and fighting for the pink door just wasn’t worth it.

So back to the point… this past November I showed Olivia a picture of a door that I loved and asked her to figure out what the color was so that I could just simply copy it. She found out what it was, but she also knew that it had been faded in the sun and that we could find a better shade for my home (lighting and shade of white on our brick…). She recommended Benjamin Moore Old World.(2011-40)

She also helped me find a new mailbox, love this white one!

Big hug to Olivia for helping me with my front door :) I love the new color!

Let’s make getting outside in our yards a little more fun, shall we? I’ve rounded up 12 finds and house updates from Target for our outdoor dinners and family time.

This coral dining set is not only gorgeous, its also rust proof and weather/fade resistant! It’s like out of a magazine gorgeous.

That’s one beautiful hammock don’t you think? I love the yellow paired with the pink tassels! Would be cute hung inside, too.

No pool no problem. Have y’all seen all the amazing pool additions on instagram. Above ground pools are trending :) I mean, why not!

How cute is this front entry?! That block print doormat is super cute, and I love those black planters.

Sometimes the simple things bring the most joy and this watermelon slip n slide is undeniably adorable!

This faux rattan wrapped stainless steel chair set is like all the pretty scenes we see in magazines, but on a Target budget. YES please.

My kids are obsessed with their razor scooters and ride them on our porch and around the neighborhood. I even have one myself, ha! They’re so fun! And how cool is this light up one?

If you’re feeling desperate and splurgy then a backyard playground is ALWAYS a winner. And you’ll always have a comeback for when the kids say they’re bored.

This is the chair everyone will fight over. Also it has the best customer inspiration photos (see them here).

If we had a paved driveway (our’s is rock) then we would definitely have a basketball goal. I grew up with one and have so many memories that involve it. Plus it’s also an activity that Dads can hardly turn down ;) Reminds me, I need to watch Father of the Bride again soon.

I have a lot of mixed feelings around trampolines because they can be so dangerous but NO one can dispute that they are fun. And good exercise. This trampoline comes in a few different sizes (and is bigger than this picture makes it look) and comes with the sides already.

Here’s another magazine worthy porch look on a Target budget. This French bistro dining set comes with 6 woven bistro armchairs and a wooden dining table. Probably my favorite find in this whole post.

Shutterfly has so many great home finds! You might remember last month I shared a post with some of the art we ordered for Lilly’s room. I recently got two more pieces from Shutterfly’s Wall Art Collection for the upstairs kids tv space that I wanted to share today!

The wall behind the sofa is pretty big so I went with 2 vertical pieces! Since this is a kids space and they have friends over all the time the space calls for durable art. Shutterfly’s art is printed on impact resistant canvas!

This Surfboard Hut Wall Art piece by Justin Lewis has cool vibes and good color! The print is gallery wrapped and then I chose the “natural” frame! One of the best things about Shutterfly’s art is that you can customize your floating frame! I love the way the finished product looks!

This Monstera Close Up print by Armin Stout Berlin is so pretty. Monstera is one of my favorite plants! It can be hung horizontally or vertically!

I wanted to share some more of my Shutterfly finds for the family! They have a lot of great customizable gift ideas and home decor!
