Summer in Charleston can be brutally hot, especially in August. And while hiding inside in the air conditioning is an option, getting outside is good for my soul. Long walks are like my meditation. The key is wearing breathable light and supportive clothes (I found my entire outfit at Backcountry), staying hydrated, and finding breezy walking and running paths. Paths like this one that are so windy they keep you cool (but make picture taking difficult when you forget your hair tie, lol). Finding athletic wear to keep you cool is really easy right now because it’s Backcountry’s Semi-Annual Sale, and today and tomorrow you get to take an additional 20% off of select apparel, footwear, and accessories!

This Splitz59 jersey tank top is basically the best workout top ever. It’s light and breezy and soft and stretchy! I’m in a size medium. If you are a new Backcountry customer then use code LOOKLINGERLOVE for 15% off full-priced items on your first order (exclusions apply).

And my Adidas shorts remind me of my long ago track days running the 100 meter dash. Glory days. I love them. I’m wearing the size medium.

Wearing:

light heather grey Splitz59 jersey tank top, Free People FP Movement sports bra,

black Adidas shorts, Nike running shoes, Yeti rambler chug water bottle

Lilly took these photos during one of our evening walks together. I feel like our conversations are always so good when we go on a walk with no distractions, she’s much more likely to open up. We love to walk the Pitt Street Bridge together because it has a nice breeze and pretty views! Here are 3 more great spots in Charleston to beat the summer heat!

3 Spots to Beat the Summer Heat in Charleston:

The Ravenel Bridge – 2.5 miles long (5 miles round trip)

Charleston Beaches – Folly, Sullivan’s, or IOP

The Battery – Gorgeous views and a great breeze

I don’t think I’ve ever received as many compliments on running shoes as I have on these Nike running shoes just this past week. They’re really comfortable, like really comfortable, and so cute! I always size up in my tennis shoes for extra room in the toes, so I’m in a size 8. They’re also a part of of the Semi-Annual sale!

You just can’t beat a Yeti cup, and this one holds 18 oz and has a comfortable drinking spout (not the case with some of the other water bottles that I own) and it’s dishwasher safe!

This Free People FP Movement bra is stretchy and supportive and soft all at the same time. It’s so comfortable that I’m wearing it right now as I type.

I also wanted to include this La Sportiva hoodie jacket that I ordered. It’s way too hot in Charleston to wear it right now but I brought it to Lake Michigan last week for the cooler weather in the morning and night, and it’s my new favorite cozy warm layer. It’s fleece lined with a reversible design, so it’s like 2 jackets in one!

I’m obsessed with this pacific blue color. Here’s a close up shot so you can see the texture.

Okay 2 last things to note:

One, use the code LOOKLINGERLOVE for 15% off full-priced items on your first order (exclusions apply). Backcountry carries the best outdoor brands and products!

Two, right now is Backcountry’s Semi-Annual Sale with lots of mark downs up to 50% off select styles! And today and tomorrow you can take an extra 20% off select apparel, footwear, and accessories (applies during checkout)! I’m including some of my favorite mark down finds in the widget below, like this tank top that’s marked down to $16!
