Ohhhh, this is a good post, friends.  We have our 2nd feature in the My Favorite Things series, and this one has me drooooooling.  I asked interior designer Janell of Isabella & Max Rooms what she has looked at, lingered over, and loved enough to put in her own home.  Let’s just say that the gorgeous Janell delivered with some serious style!!

Thanks for inviting me to be a part of your “5 Favorite Things” series, Chassity! When I started to think about what I might include, I decided to go with the first items that came to mind and here they are.

1. The Freud Chaise Lounge from Mitchell Gold. First of all, is that the best name for a chaise lounge or what? I had my eye on this piece for quite awhile, and so was thrilled while visiting the store in Portland for a book signing, by both Mitchell and Bob, to see that the floor model was on sale! It is a great piece that simply gets better with age.

2. Here is another floor model, an Uttermost mirror I found at Lamps Plus, on clearance with a bit of damage. A small piece on the top portion of the frame was cracked and about to come off. I bargained the price down from over $300 to around $35. LOVE! A bit of super glue and a new glaze of paint over the frame (to help the finish work well with the design of this bathroom) took care of any damage and it is one of the highlights of this bathroom design.

3. These lamps were found at HomeGoods, one of my absolute favorite resource for lamps. Originally the bases were a bright cobalt blue and featured plain ivory shades. A makeover resulted in the glossy ivory bases, with the shades covered with a fun Chinoiserie fabric and green trim.

4. An old Hoosier cabinet is another favorite item in my home. This piece originally sat in my grandfather’s wood shop, and I have many fond memories of being in the shop, watching him work. The cabinet finally found its way to my house, and after I had it stripped of lead paint it was refinished and now functions as a great storage and desk piece in my husband’s home office.

5. And last, this chair is one of a pair I won at auction. They were one ugly pair of chairs and luckily no one else was interested in them! But after refinishing the frames and having them reupholstered in a pretty velvet, they are a favorite in our home.

My goodness, Janell, can I move in?  Thank you so much for sharing your amazing finds.  And she clearly is a humble woman, because she didn’t even mention her DIY chalkboard lamp that was featured on The Nate Show.

You can see the step by step instruction on The Nate Show’s website here.  And be sure to check out Janell’s design blog too.

Today we’re roadtripping up to Blacksburg, VA to see my husband’s alma mater, Virginia Tech, play Georgia Tech.  Should be a good time with some good friends we haven’t seen in awhile.  But all I can think about is that the forecast is calling for snow.  Really, snow?

(both images via here)

I’m just getting used to the newly arrived fall-like weather here in Charleston.  Which leads me to the packing frenzy…  I wish I had a pair of these to bring along for the ride.

Or actually more like these.

Yes, those would do quite nicely.

The Charleston Home featured in November’s issue of Charleston Magazine is a laid back haven.  Harper Poe, designer-owner of Proud Mary and the author of the blog LLOSO, and her husband John Vergel de Dios have perfectly blended family hand me downs with Eames elements.  Their condo boasts exposed brick walls, industrial-style finishings, massive windows, and a rooftop terrace with a view.

I spy lowcountry artwork.  I love how the frames are casually leaned up against the wall.

This is my first giveaway here on the blog, and I am so honored to have the privilege of giving away something that is so adorable and for such a great cause.  Lil Blu Birds shop features handmade applique shirts and jewelry that benefit orphans in Ethiopia.
How cute are those little owl shirts?!  And if I had a little boy he would have the skull and crossbones tee.

The shop’s owner, Jennifer, not only donates the shop’s proceeds to different orphanages and villages for food and humanitarian aid, but she and her husband have also adopted a very handsome Ethiopion son, Abe (that’s him in the photos).  They feel called to bring home another little girl, and to help spread the word, Jennifer is giving away one of the initial shirts.

Totally cute right?!  These would make great gifts.  To enter all you have to do is visit Lil Blu Bird shop and come back here to leave a comment with the letter you would want if you won.  For an additional entry become a follower of my blog (be sure to leave a second comment stating this).
This giveaway ends Tuesday, Novemeber 9th.
Even better, place an order with Lil Blu Birds before November 12th and receive 10% off your order and free shipping when you mention Look Linger Love.
Note: This giveaway is only applicable to US and Canada residents.  We wish we could extend it to our friends in other countries but the shipping is cost prohibitive.

With Lilly’s first birthday almost one week away I, of course, have been browsing around for ideas for her.  What do you think of these finds?  Do you see any that she has to have?

I know, I know- a scarf on a baby is ridiculous.  Ridiculously cute!  And don’t worry, she’s closely watched when she does wear one of her scarves.
Also, last night Lilly had her one year photoshoot with our amazing photographer Gray Benko.  I really wanted to do it at the carnival, and Gray happily obliged.  Last night while I was sleeping she sent me this sneak peak photo.
To say that I love it and can’t wait to see the rest is a drastic understatement.  Gray also just posted the most adorable photos from her daughter’s Alice in Wonderland themed first birthday party.  You can see them on her blog here.
