Yesterday afternoon I get an email from my husband telling me to freeze our leftover white chicken chili because we’re dropping Lilly off at his parent’s and heading out for dinner.  Impromptu date nights are the best.  While choosing an outfit (see a peek of it here) I couldn’t help but long for an undergarment selection that is up to par with the rest of my closet.

Really, do you all wear super chic and feminine stuff like this on a day to day basis?  Probably not considering it would be real hard to tuck in those bows.  I guess what I’m really asking is…
What does your undergarment drawer look like?  Is it a mess of cotton basics or is it brimming with color and texture?  I wish I could say otherwise but mine is overflowing with a sad array of white, nude, and black blaaah-ness.  Oh, and if you tell me you’re of the “matching” type I just might have a fit of envy.

I can’t resist sharing Lilly’s new Bumby swimwear.  Isn’t it absolutely beyond?!

And if I would look this good I would most definitely order this suit.
I have to tell you that Marysia Swim’s Collection is even more beautiful in person.  Lilly will be one stylin’ little girl on the beach.

If you haven’t caught it yet, today Alex over at Things That Sparkle is featuring some of my favorite things.  I’m sharing a few of what I love most in my home broken down by category (room, furniture, textile…).  What fun to get to share what I adore so much with the blog world.

So head on over and check it out.  Look, linger, and love the rest of Alex’s blog too.  She’s most definitely one of my very favorite blog writers.  Chicago girl has STYLE!!

Who couldn’t use a little incentive to make achieving your resolution goals a little sweeter?!

Out with the old and in with the new.  Fresh cosmetic bags will help you declutter your vanity drawer.

Want to look effortlessly cool?  Either of these frocks would easily up your Fab-Factor to a ten.

Why not make your new diet a little more attractive to the eye?  Invest in some new dishes (even if just one plate or bowl) to make those restrained meals feel a little more like a splurge.

Want to expand your talents this year?  Look up local shops in your area that offer design classes.  This Floral Arranging Class by Stems is on my must do asap list.

Trying to live a better life?  Now is the time to take up your Mother’s helpful advice and polite reminders .

Resolved to get organized in 2011?  Grab a great planner and some pretty file folders.

Are you a workaholic who needs a reminder to just relax?  Invest in some great resort wear and book a vacation somewhere exotic.

Want to minimize your environmental footprint but can’t help your shopping addiction?  Recycle your shopping bags into wall art.  Genious.

And, in my opinion, some of the best advice for a better life…

One thing that I love about being in the blog community is how easy it is to connect with a wealth of talented people.  A week or two ago SisterBatik found my blog.  I’m so glad the two sisters did because I’m totally digging their collection of pillow covers.

As a pair they create gorgeous home accessories using African design batiks.  I have a thing for brightening up things with pillows and am loving many of their patterns.  Check out their shop

I hope you all bid a joyous farewell to 2010 and greeted 2011 with ZEST!  We rang in the new year by renting a bar downtown with 50 of our dear friends.  Very little can top a NYE 5 years ago when Josh surprised me with a marriage proposal (after only knowing me for 2 months!!).  Or the following NYE celebrated in Tahiti on our honeymoon.  But I have to say that this year’s celebration went down in the books.

With my friends Krystine and Sara.  And I know you all are tired of seeing this purse, you don’t have to tell me.
I’m so glad I went with the sequin dress.  Nothing like a little shimmer and shine to brighten a party!  And the crowd was shimmering and shining.  I wanted to add a little extra something so I strung a small bowtie onto a chain.  I think it was the perfect touch.
You all remember my photographer friend Gray.

Here’s hoping for another year filled with love, happiness, and good health.  I’m looking forward to more blog fun with you all!
