Did ya’ll hear that Charleston’s very own Husk won Bon Appetit’s Best New Restaurant in America? So awesome. Charleston is filled to the brim with culinary talent, and I feel so lucky to live in this city. I hadn’t had Husk’s burger yet (and it’s been getting rave reviews) so we decided to go for brunch on Sunday. Here’s a shot of Lilly checking out the joggling board swing on Husk’s porch. Not the best quality as it was taken with my iphone. Isn’t she so cute with her J.Crew sparkle purse? She carries tiny toys around in it.
As usual, Husk didn’t disappoint. The burger was fantastic, as were the fried chicken skins. Yep, fried chicken skins. They come with a spicy honey sauce that you just have to try. So if you’re coming to Charleston, be sure to make reservations (dinner is fabulous) at
Husk for a true southern experience. And trust me, you don’t want to miss a visit to Husks’ bar next door either.
After brunch we stopped by a local home store, Celadon, to look around and came home with a few things.
A chalkboard easel for the playroom (chalkboard on both sides):
A little dinosaur for Baby Boy’s soon to be room:
And these things didn’t come home with us but I’m quite smitten with them. This pillow has pink fabric on one side and an orange on the other.
And I adore this sign. It’s haunting me to go back for it but was a bit too pricey.
Did you all have a great weekend too?
