So my super sweet but very opinionated little girl is insistent upon being a robot for Halloween.  A robot.  Anytime she’s asked what her costume will be she declare’s robot.  In fact, we recently ran into a neighbor who thought that she had maybe misunderstood Lilly’s answer so she asked Lilly again what she’s dressing up as.  Lilly responded with very exagerated ennunciation “ROOOBOOOOOT” in a most “you’re an idiot” manner.  ??  Where did this come from?  My child is not bratty like that by the way.  She’s actually super sweet.  So it was actually kind of hilarious and Josh and I are still laughing about it.

So does anyone know where I can find a “cute” robot costume that my 23 month old child will actually be able to move around in?  They’re hard to find.  And I’m just not the creative DIY type (go ahead and laugh and say “just cut some holes in a box”).  Seriously though, anyone know of one?

I love West Elm, but I was marking pages left and right when I got their latest magazine.  What a great collection for such reasonable prices!

Today I get the honor of welcoming back my very first blog sponsor, Jylare Photography.  I know many of your know her (and have used and love her!).  You may remember that she was the one who snapped my pregnancy announcement photos.  She’s a true sweetheart to work with.  She took some photos of my family while we were vacationing in San Diego over the summer.  I snapped this behind the scenes shot of Jylare at work (surprise Jylare!) while she was getting a photo of a few of my family members.

We were all thrilled with her results.  She’s just a super talented chic!  A super talented chic who just moved to Utah.  But she still shoots part time in Southern California for those of you out there.
I could go on and on about Jylare’s talent but I just don’t think I need to.  Her work speaks for itself.  So if you’re in her neck of the woods you must give her a shout!  Especially since the holiday’s are nearly upon us…

Real happy to report that we’re making baby steps on the nursery (har har har).  I finally made a bunch of decisions and took the leap and started ordering.  Sweaty palms…  If you’d like to see baby boy’s crib bedding (and to say I’m in love with it just isn’t saying enough) head over to my Look Linger Love Facebook Page.  I shared a photo with my fans a few days ago. While you’re there please “like” my page!  (Pinky swear I won’t clog up your newsfeed.) I’ll be sharing more nursery decisions over there in the weeks ahead!

Charleston is really busting at the seams with culinary talent.  So when I was invited to attend last week’s Charleston Food Bloggers Restaurant Awards dinner I happily accepted.  Invited as a special guest (though not sure what exactly makes me special), I got to meet some new local bloggers, get the scoop on what these guys all thought were the best places in town, and try out a great new restaurant that I had not yet been to.

The dinner was hosted at Cork Bistro and the menu they served us was incredibly good.

Cork even won a couple of awards in their region of town’s category including best atmosphere.  Winners were nominated and voted on by 5 of Charleston’s most active food bloggers: Charleston Food Bloggers , Foodmancing The Girl , Hungry Meets Healthy , Red Head Recipies , and Foodie Fix .  They broke up the winners into 4 geographic locations in Charleston including Downtown, East of the Cooper, West of the Ashley, and the North area.

Best Food: American
Downtown: McCrady’s
West of the Ashley: The Glass Onion
East of the Cooper: Eurasia
The North area: Cork Bistro
Best Food: International

Best Food: New Restaurant
Downtown: Husk
West of the Ashley: Roadside Kitchen
East of the Cooper: Eurasia
The North area: Zocalo
Best Food: Local Chain
Best Food: Cheap Eats

East of the Cooper: Jack’s Cosmic Dogs
The North area: EVO Pizza

West of the Ashley: Bowen’s Island
East of the Cooper: La Pizzeria
The North area: Havana Café

The North area: Cork Bistro
Best Bar
West of the Ashley: Smoky Oak Taproom
East of the Cooper: Red’s Ice House
The North area: Madra Rua
Best Local Farm

I didn’t take part in the voting, but I will say that I regularly frequent many of the winners’ locations above including La Pizzaria, Poe’s Tavern, Taco Boy, Jack’s Cosmic Dogs, and Husk.  And some of  you may remember that I included Paolo’s Gelato in my Glitter Guide feature.

So there you go, some great local restaurants straight from some unbiased foodies :)  Go exploring!
