Camping in NYC? Now, that would be quite the sideshow. What I’m referring to is Sideshow Press’ upcoming debut at the National Stationery Show May 19-22 in NYC. It’s going to be the letterpress booth of all letterpress booths. I can say this sort of thing to you because you appreciate the beauty of print. I seem to know you all so well, don’t I?

That up there is the invitation that Sideshow Press created for the show. I can’t even get over the little letterpress wooden treasure map included to help find your way to booth #1852 (but oh hey Amy and Courtney, you forgot to mark Barney’s on there!).

I was in the girl scouts growing up, so the fact that this Sideshow Press collection is inspired by the starry night sky and adventures in wind and water makes my heart feel full. 50 beautifully designed everyday pieces that will evoke memories of “go play outside” days gone by. They were fond days, really. But do remind me to tell you sometime about the metal swing set we had that sat on an electrical wire…

If you’re heading to the big show, plan to stop by and see the Sideshow Press girls at Booth #1852! I’ve seen a few of the pieces in person and they venture way beyond paper goods, y’all. Think vintage-familiar and mod-fresh. It’s flat out adorable.

Now, who’s up for a Troop Beverly Hills showing?

There’s a reason why Sam Edelman’s gigi thong sandal continues to stand it’s ground season after season. The simple reason being that it’s the perfect little sandal. It’s also inexpensive. I wear mine constantly and they’ve lasted 3 years with minimal sign of wear. Plus they’re the kind of sandal that you wear and you don’t notice that you’re wearing them. Don’t you hate it when you have to flex your feet while you walk to keep your shoe on?? No thanks.

The gigi comes in a million different color options so everyone doesn’t have the same pairs. Here are some of my favorites.
I’m really digging the other flats in Sam Edelman’s new collection, too. Those black gladiators come in cognac, too, and would be perfect in my closet.
Cute and comfortable flats lend themselves to the ease of summer living. Summertiiiime and the livin’s easy. Bradley’s on the microphone with Ras-MG. Who remembers that song?

Lately I’ve been feeling like I have a zillion different things to do and no time to do them. Really, I’m feeling overwhelmed. I tend to be a low stress type of person, which I think is working against me right now… there are just so many things I need work on and wrap up that I keep pushing them all off because it’s all just too much. Do y’all do this? I need a kick in the ass. And I need to get better organized. All of my “notes” on my iphone keep disappearing. Seriously they just up and delete and it’s so frustrating.

Wow, way to lay it on you on a Monday. As scattered as my mind is I still managed to gather this pretty little collection of feminine must haves. Leave it to me to find the time to shop and wish list.

Cutest patterned heels – stripes & floral
Don’t let the little image fool you, that dress is everything
Probably the prettiest shorts I’ve seen
Summery white tote
This polka dot skirt is my jam

On a high note, I did have a most amazing weekend. I hope y’all did, too.

Well I got back from the Southern C Summit yesterday! I had such an awesome time with everyone on Jekyll Island (despite the rainy weather). What a magical place to get to share inspiring ideas with fellow creatives. I feel so lucky to have been a part of this inaugural event.

That’s Lulie Wallace and me right before our “blogging and brand collaborations” presentation. I was a little nervous to get up and speak since it’s not something I do everyday. But let me tell you, that room of 200 awesome and inspiring women (and a few guys) was so welcoming that I had a total blast up there. I mean, I really enjoyed sharing my experiences and advice. Everyone was so engaged that we didn’t even have enough time for the million questions that the audience had. And audience seems like a weird word. Co-creatives is a much better description.

Unbeknownst to me, during my presentation artist Katherine Sandoz drew my portrait. It pretty much completed my day to see myself portrayed in this manner. Notice the open door?

I really was aiming to be totally open and share as much information and advice as I could. I’m so glad that Katherine felt that too.

So much thanks to all of my readers who attended and supported me, it meant the world. I hope you got as much out of the conference as I did. And a big thanks to Cheri and Whitney for putting together the whole event – y’all rocked it out in the most hospitable way. Everyone is already looking forward to next year!

Every once in awhile I score really big at Forever 21. Quality and design is important to me, so sometimes I walk out empty handed. But this taupe & mint pleated maxi skirt was a major score. I picked it up in the store about 4 months ago and hadn’t seen it since. Except for now… because they’ve gone and listed it as available online.

I seriously wear this skirt constantly and everyone thinks it is Tibi (shhh, it was only $23). My favorite way to wear it is with this little white tee because little white tees are my jam. And if little white tees are my jam then this little white tee is like Smuckers, or whatever your favorite jam and jelly brand is. It’s a good price, too. In fact, overall today’s outfit is priced very reasonably.

And about that Clare Vivier clutch. I’ve had this trusty bag for over 2 years and our love is still going strong. CV makes a damn good clutch with about a gazillion different color and leather options.

They’re delightful. See?

I’m not so much a spring cleaning kinda gal (do people really still do that?), but I am into a good spring update. Our master bathroom could use a few final touches, starting with that teak ladder for towel storage.

ribbon roman shade (only $60!)
border bath towels (i have these!)
Touches here and there go a long way. How cute is that pottery barn teen pom-pom rug? It’s only $19!
