My favorite new arrivals of note.

hello leather tank lover, especially paired with those retro shorts
summer’s most versatile top, the chambray pocket tank
and summer’s most versatile sandal, the gigi flat in cognac
i’m obsessed with this turquoise print dress, great price too!
These little alphabet initial rings might be at the top of my jewel lust list
really digging the dimension of this pretty varo ring
initially drawn to this cowl neck boxy tank, then fell for those slouchy patterned pants
i might want to live in this paisley caftan dress
Happy Tuesday!

As soon as I spotted this Del Mar stripe skirt on Shopbop over the weekend my mind immediately went to work trying to place where I had seen a similar look before. I’m weird like that, killer outfits just stick in my mind.

After a while I remembered that Blair of Atlantic Pacific had styled a similar skirt before. What a versatile piece!
I have to say I’m quite partial to that european bicyclists silk tank, too. It’s pretty much the cutest, especially with the stripe skirt, which btw is only $38!! I think that skirt would also look killer with this perfect little top.

With Father’s Day, 4th of July, and all those endless summer nights right around the corner, I’ve been brainstorming fun outdoor ideas that are family friendly. Naturally eating came to mind. Because, duh. Chances are that Josh will be happiest at the grill, so for this exercise I will focus my efforts on the dessert.

(for a pretty tablescape, consider setting it up right on the lawn)
(easy clean-up and cute presentation)
(how clever!)
(because sometimes all you want is a cookie)
(i want to pop popcorn over a camp fire tooooo)

(for those of us who prefer to drink our dessert)

(for after dinner star gazing and story telling)
*i’m just looking for a reason to buy myself that sleeping bag*
Everything tastes better under the stars, right?

An edited shopping list for the men in your life.

prettiest bocce ball set that there ever was
jack rudy cocktail tonic (southern made by a southern gentleman)
fresh boxers – you know it’s time
And if he’s a bike riding kind of guy, I think this leather trunk would be really smooth. Like, really smooth. Oh and don’t forget a card, I love this one!

I kind of feel like I’ve been doing it all wrong the past 15 or so years. I’ve always assumed that since I have a large chest that I needed big bras that could support me and help shape. Fuck that y’all. They’ve been making me look bigger than necessary, as much as I hate to admit it. You can’t even walk into Victoria’s Secret and find a bra that doesn’t have those big molded cups anymore. Where are the thin and slimming bras???

So, we’ve all been seeing these little lace bralettes. To be honest I had just written them off for me, assuming they wouldn’t work for my big chest. But I decided to give one a try. And what do you know, it’s changed my boobie world. I now own 4 of these lace style bralettes in a lot of pretty colors.

I don’t usually go on and on about a bra. But this needs to be shouted to the world, especially considering it’s summer and we’re all wearing little tanks and tops that show a lot. Like it or not, pretty bras with pretty straps are kind of important. More importantly, it just makes me feel happy to finally have pretty bras.

These scalloped lace bralettes above are from Urban Outfitters and I love them a whole lot. They actually hold me in, have adjustable straps (key for support if you have big knockers), stay cool in warm weather, and look good under most all of my clothes! They’re only $25, freaking cheap for a bra.

It will change the way you look at your boobs, y’all. I can’t stress it enough. Maybe I don’t need a reduction after all? Happy bra shopping.

My favorite vintage curator (remember these floral pants?), Lauren Lail, has debuted a gorgeous vintage inspired clothing collection that speaks to me big time. It’s feminine, it’s simple, it’s really quite perfect. I stopped in to visit her a couple of weeks ago and have been holding on to this post until her e-commerce site launched (bc I know it sucks to tell y’all about lines that you all can’t shop). Well, it’s up – so I’m super excited to introduce you to LIBRARY by Lauren Lail!!

Designed & modeled by Lauren (i know, sometimes it just doesn’t seem fair), the whole collection was inspired by a painting that Lauren’s friend and Novel shop partner, Way Way Allen, painted for Lauren using a color palette inspired by Lauren’s favorite vintage top. Pretty cool, huh?
Those blue josie shorts up there are my favorite piece from the collection. So much so that I own them. Anyone remember seeing them on my instagram?

But to be honest I’m quite partial to the peachy nude jacket and that embroidered willa dress, too. It’s all beautiful, really. So go check out Lauren’s entire LIBRARY collection. If you’re in Charleston you can check it out at Novel. Congrats girlfriend!

PS, if you’re as enamored by those lucite/brass rods as I am, then you might be happy to see that I found an etsy seller that makes similar ones that aren’t all that crazy expensive :)
