Screw Shark Week… Who wants to see innocent seals get eaten alive. I’m much more into Moda Operandi’s Swim Week they have going on. They’ve been busy featuring the best of the best Resort 2014 collections (& my friend Marysia is included – whoop whoop!!). Here are some crazy good pieces that I saw.

I cannot get over those panama hats!! And Agua de Coco is a real brand stand out for me right now.

Oh, and the great thing about Swim is that it’s much more in reach than some of the other collections Moda Operandi features… really – go take a peek!

PS… did you catch up on all my posts from the weekend?

  • Dina Goldstein’s photography series Fallen Princesses, while a little depressing, is quite thought provoking. You gotta see it.
  • I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of Samantha Hahn’s new book Well Read Women. She illustrated 50 of the most legendary female characters and hand lettered quotes from their dialogues. It looks exquisite.
  • I don’t know what this says about me, but I found it quite refreshing to see these pictures of Kate Moss in a bikini looking like she’s gained a few complimentary pounds (and looking really freaking great I must say). You really outta take a looksie.
  • Did you see that Cara Delevingne might be the lead in the 50 Shades of Grey movie?? She’d be perfect, I think.
  • Did you see my girl Lulie Wallace’s new landscape series? Pretty, pretty.
  • Tory Burch’s fall handbag collection is pretty rockin’. I especially love the middy satchel, the dome satchel, & this slouchy tote.
  • J.Crew’s offering 30% off knits and tees through tonight. Great time to load up on easy tops (and especially on things for the kids’ back to school wardrobe!). Use code “shopnow“.
  • This boxy patterned top by Club Monaco is gorgeous and looks much more expensive than it is. I’m thinking it might be a good investment.

Army coats are a big trend for fall this year and I’m all about it. They’re comfy, warm, and a neutral color that will go with a lot of your wardrobe. I really like both of these splurge and save options…

Ankle strap heels are definitely a popular style for fall. You know I’m a fan – remember my L.A.M.B heels? (You can buy them here at Zappos now.) I had these Alexander Wang point toe pumps favorited but was pretty happy to see this low priced Steve Madden option.

And naturally for me booties are where it’s at for fall. I have a lot of love for these Rag & Bone booties, BUT last week I picked up these Jeffrey Campell Rosmore booties at Shoes on King downtown. I’m in freaking love. They’re slightly slouchy and even fold down if you want to give them a different look. Super comfortable too – go pick ’em up! I’m considering getting them in black too.

Earlier this week Lilly and I packed up for a short momma + daughter trip to Tybee Island, GA. We were invited down to stay at my friend Gray’s friend Meredith’s family beach house. Get that? Just some mommas and their babes having some old school beachy fun. We brought a sitter down with us so that we could relax a little – it was nice to have an extra hand when bellies started growling or when a baby needed to take a nap. And she came in extra handy at bedtime so we moms could get out and explore Tybee (it was my first visit).

Meredith’s beach house is seriously one of the coolest homes I’ve ever had the pleasure of being in. It’s 110 years old and is full of character. I kinda can’t even put it into words, but it was straight up dreamy. Plus, you could just throw open a porch door (there were countless porches that all wrapped around and connected to one another) and find yourself looking at the beach. Lilly and I were in Heaven.

Anway, you know that Lilly and Farris are besties. So it was only natural that many photo opportunities presented themselves over the course of our stay. Gray managed to catch a few good moments…

We’re so blessed to have these memories. I think Lilly and I need to take off more often… Thanks for having us down, Meredith!

All pictures of the girls captured by Gray Benko’s  iphone. More pictures from one of our beach days coming next week.

PS – while we’re talking about momma and daughters – I’d like to wish my Mom a happy birthday today!

Fall arrivals are steadily rolling in and luckily there is a plethora of long sleeve dress options. I just love to throw on a dress with some heels or booties. It’s a popular look, so I’ve rounded up ten of my top easy long sleeve dress options.
