Archive for January, 2014

I finally did it. After exactly 9 months of dreaming all over the Otte Ellen Dress I ordered the damn thing. And by “damn” I mean divine. I’m just obsessed with this dress and am so happy she finally lives in my closet. I question why it took me so long. I wish to have a whole rainbow of these Otte dresses –  it comes in so many pretty colors. I’d love to own it in this fuchsia, in addition to my black one.

These Jimmy Choos are one of my most beloved pair of heels in my closet. I love how they punch up my neutral look. I found a few good look-a-likes for less here and here.

This Lizzie Fortunato copper jungle clutch is a new favorite for me. The mix of copper and gold unsurprisingly goes with practically everything that I wear. It’s been one of my best buys for sure. Priced well, too.

See these two bracelets up there? For Christmas Josh surprised me with the hammered gold plated Christina Jervey arrow cuff. He knew how I admired it. And the braille bracelet spells “woman” and was given to me by my friends at Everything But Water. It means a lot to me and I’ve been wearing it a lot. 25% of the proceeds of each sale is donated to Living Beyond Breast Cancer.

And my Jane Pope Lips earrings… I’m just mad over these. They were easily my favorite prezzie to gift for Christmas (did you see my instagram?). They’re just so cheeky yet simple. Jane makes it in an adorable necklace version, too. But I wanted to throw my Gold & Gray peach moonstone necklace on with this dress. I’m really into long necklaces right now and this one is one of my favorites. I’ve been eyeing this necklace, too.

Happy Monday! I’m hoping to get about 5 million things done today. We’ll see.

Well this just happened to me this weekend. Meet Charleston jewelry designer Ann Ladson. Her work is a deliberate balance of delicate meets rough. And I’m smitten smitten.

Isn’t the model gorgeous? She was in my barre class on Friday morning and I couldn’t stop staring at her. Note, gorgeous models shouldn’t be allowed to exercise with us regular people.

I’m cheating on January for Spring. Can you blame me? Ugh, this cold snap is wild. I’ve been watching it all over the country and am just amazed. Let’s set our eyes on warmer days, please.

That floral DVF dress is pretty much the perfect dress to have – you could wear it to everything and it’s comfy/flattering. And can we talk about the strappy heels with them?? GAH! Oh, and that JCrew peacoat trench is just as delightful as it can be. J.Crew is having an awesome 40% off select items right now including those spotted pumps! Just use the code “TAKENOTE”. I went ahead and pulled some more of my favorites included in the 40% off promotion.

I think I’ve started to write this post a million times and never get around to finishing it. But finally here it is… my favorite beauty products (but not make up, that’s a whole other post). The older I get the more I get into beauty products. I have a big collection, but wanted to pull out a few of my most favorite products to share with y’all.

Kate Spade Cosmetic Case: Josh gave me this case, along with a smaller matching one, for our 2nd Christmas together. So I’ve had it for 6 years. Point being, Kate Spade puts out quality.

Bamboo Luminous Shine Shampoo & Conditioner: I’ve never had a shampoo and conditioner leave my hair as clean as this brand. It doesn’t feel weighted down, just normal. That’s what I like.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover: I’ve used this make up remover for probably 5+ years. I’ve never found one I like better. Plus I can easily grab it at Target or wherever.

SkinCeuticals Face Wash: Simple and effective face wash that I can use daily. Doesn’t dry out my skin.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Gel Eye Cream: The skin around my eyes can get dry and I like this cream b/c it perfectly hydrates without being too heavy.

SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic Treatment: I have been using this stuff for a year and I swear it has improved the appearance of my skin. I’m hooked.

Venus Spa Breeze: Okay so this may not be the best razor you’ll ever use BUT I love it b/c shaving cream isn’t necessary it does actually keep me shaving way more often than I would with a normal razor. It’s just fast and quick.

Sephora Lip Balm: I put this on every morning and every night. Sometimes in the afternoon, too. I’m addicted to chapstick.

Batiste Dry Shampoo: I love this dry shampoo b/c it’s really effective and is very inexpensive. I use it most everyday because I have oily hair.

Oribe Texturing Spray: This stuff is hair magic. I’m only on my 2nd bottle but am hooked. It gives the best texture and volume. Trust me. Plus it smells like Heaven.

Clarisonic: I forgot to pull it out for the picture but I use my Clarisonic every single night before bed. Every single night. I couldn’t live without it. I have the mia, but they’re all great.

If you had to name one favorite beauty product, what would it be??? Mine would be face lotion, but I’ve yet to find the “perfect”. Any recomendations?

Filed Under: Fashion, What I'm Wearing

It’s my first outfit post of 2014! Last Friday Gray and I managed to have a little downtown girl time and stopped in at the cutest little spot called P.I.E. for some hot cider before moving on to lunch at Rarebit (we both were craving cheeseburgers). I was breaking in my new Valentino rock stud pumps, because naturally I want to wear them everyday. They’re seriously so comfortable that I can wear them all day long. Not even kidding. I’ve lusted over these heels for too long, and now I want them in every color.

chambray button down top, black pants (similar), valentino rockstud pumps

fossil duffel bag (on crazy sale!!) ℅, anthropologie/bauble bar tortoise jeweled earrings ℅

anthropologie/bauble bar tortoise bracelet ℅, christina jervey neck cuff ℅, urban decay lip in crush

LLL_streetstyle_28-4

A good chambray top is easily one of the most essential and versatile piece you can have (along with a great tee). I love how this one has a different shade on the sleeves to break it up a little bit.

I know I instagrammed the new Anthropologie + Bauble Bar collaboration jewels, but seriously – they’re really great! I really love this big tortoise cuff, too.

LLL_streetstyle_28-6

My Fossil satchel bag is on serious sale right now and comes in 6 different pretty colors. It’s sooo soft and looks luxe without being expensive. I also love it in this pastel green (remember how pastels are in this spring).

LLL_streetstyle_28-7

There it is! More outfits to come soon. If you’re in Charleston be sure to pop into P.I.E. for a bite sometime – on Warren Street right off of Upper King. And below you can shop more items that are similar to my look here today.
