Interrupting this rainy (at least here in Charleston) Tuesday afternoon with a killer style steal. Little black dresses are always a happy new addition my closet and this one is gorgeous AND cool AND a steal.
That top pink wrapper coat. Right??! And the turtleneck would be so easy with jeans or leggings. Also, after minority obsessed with hologram bags (thanks to JCrew’s spring presentation) and am loving that envelope clutch!
Good morning. We had a nice weekend – family time Friday night. I went to a spin class Saturday morning and had lunch with my friend Haskell. More family time, then out with friends that night for football. Yesterday was a productive family day, too. Feels good to be home for once!
Today I’m share this black and white look that I’m really feeling thanks to this mixed media dress. It’s part of Lafayette 148’sbeautiful new fall collection.
You know how you can just immediately tell when you put on something that is really well made? That’s how I feel in this dress. The leather skirt is faux and it all just fits and hangs nicely.
So many of my new favorite things are black and white so I had fun making this a black and white themed outfit. My chunky beaded KSNY necklace and black/white Remy pumps are easy accessories.
I know I’ve shared a snap or two of my friend Lulie Wallace’s tablescapes launch dinner, but the professional images are so darn pretty that I feel compelled to share more. It was such magical night and the inspiration is endless. Hope you enjoy.
The event was held at Mixson here in Charleston. Mixson is a members only swim and racquet club with a laid back cool vibe. Perfect for Lulie’s collection.
How cute is this?!
Some facts – Lulie is wearing a Cynthia Rowley dress. Flowers are by Stems. Location is Mixson Bath & Racquet Club. Lulie Wallace’s paintings and fabrics are available on her site. Thanks for including me on your special night, Lulie!
So I don’t bring it up here very much, but I am a big reader. I read 1 book a week on average, sometimes more if I’m traveling or have extra time. I’ve been like this since childhood where I would devour Sweet Valley High and Baby Sitter Club books in nearly a day (we lived in the country and sometimes I just didn’t want to play outside). My reading slowed down a little after having kids because I found it hard to take the time to look for a good book with the kids chattering with me in the aisle. But now that I have my Kindle Paperwhite I’m back at it because I can download books in a hot second. I stay up later than I should thanks to this little hobby but I can’t help myself. In my defense, I rarely watch tv.
I know summer is over and that is when a lot of people like to dive into a good novel, but I wanted to share 9 of my favorite recently read books with y’all anyway. Disclaimer: I lean toward girly, easy reads.
Riiight? Those bow tie necklaces are screaming for me. And how great is that last photo? The colors of the sylvia necklaces are amazing together. Shop the whole Loren Hope collection here, and scroll through some of my favorites here below.
