As kids grow their needs change. We moved past cribs and toddler beds a long time ago, but for the past 2 years Fletcher has been sleeping on just a bedspring and mattress. At first it was to transition him from side rails because he’s kind of a wild sleeper and I didn’t want him to fall from a high bed. He liked sleeping pretty low to the ground though, which was fine by me. When he recently expressed interest in an actual bed I turned to ducduc because I’ve been a long time fan of their eco-friendly kids furniture.
While ducduc has a whole collection of really cool, modern furniture, what I love most about them is that you can customize each and every piece and they’re all made to order! Fletcher loved getting to help design his new alex platform bed! He insisted upon having these two large pull out drawers to stash his toys and things he wanted to keep out of his sister’s eye sight.
And I really love this little bench and storage shelf at the end of the bed! It get’s used A LOT.
All of ducduc’s pieces are made well with solid hardwood and plywood (no mdf) and are made in Connecticut. They use green materials and finishes that can be color matched to any Pantone color. They also provide white glove delivery service with assembly :)
Don’t worry, Lilly wasn’t left out. She starts 2nd grade in two weeks and has outgrown her little antique desk that we used to have in her room. We chose this ducduc cabana vanity because it doubles as a desk/vanity.
It has two drawers on each side (with ouchless, self closing drawer glides) for all of Lilly’s supplies. The middle compartment easily pops up and has a mirror, which is Lilly’s favorite part.
I love it because it’s the sort of piece that I could totally move somewhere else in our house.
The kids are so happy with their colorful and cute new rooms. You can check out ducduc’s whole furniture collection right here!
