Good Monday Morning! We’ve been doing some construction on our front entry and the stairs have finally finished! They used to do this tight wonky turn and you’d enter from the right side of this porch. We nixed that and added the stairs out the front! The whole front isn’t done yet, BUT it did feel good to go get some plants for this space and a new door mat! Since the porch is so small I needed a doormat that could handle all the weather and I am SO excited about my Rope Co rug! The plants are Birds of Paradise, one of my favorite plants ever, and we’ve had the planters for a while but these textured terracotta planters are nearly identical! This is our Emtek door hardware that I love! And our gas lanterns are from Circa Lighting. We aren’t sure why they are so black on the glass, if anyone has any ideas…
If your entry needs a good zhush here are some fun ideas!
The best part about going back to school, according to my kids, is the after-school snacks. It’s definitely a perk for me, too! I’m so happy to partner with Walmart today to share some back-to-school favorites! They have so many cute and comfy things to wear, like this cozy sweatshirt and fitted sweatpants (they’re like a cute cross between leggings and sweatpants)! They’re both Free Assembly which is one of my favorite brands to browse on Walmart. Lilly’s pastel green backpack is new, too, and it’s water resistant!
Okay back to after school snacks – brownies are one of our family’s favorite desserts! They’re easy and fun to make together and the pan always lasts a few days! Our not-so-secret ingredient – we add some chopped up chocolate to the mix! Any chocolate we have on hand! I used one of our new Farberware Resin knives and our mint green cutting board for this task.
I didn’t take a picture of thebrownie mix that we used but it’s this one. It’s our favorite box mix!
I found this Handheld Emersion Blender in the back to college section. It’s part of the Drew Barrymore Beautiful collection and it is awesome and priced so well at only $34! We used the whisk attachment for the brownies and it has serious power! It’s such a great kitchen tool for kids to use and a great gift idea as well!
Isn’t the design on the back of Lil’s sweatshirt fun? I like the colors. Hooded sweatshirts are one of her favorite things to wear right now.
My pink gingham seersucker dress is also Free Assembly! It’s really soft and is only $36! It also comes in navy which would be great for fall as well! I love the ruffle detail on the shoulders.
Here are some more of Drew Barrymore’s pieces in her Beautiful collection. So many well priced kitchen tools that not only look great but are easy enough for kids to use!
I love the color palette and the soft matte finish of the collection! This electric hot water kettle is gorgeous enough to leave out on your countertop, and it comes in all the collection matte color options! I use my hot water kettle all morning long and then again in the afternoon or evening for matcha lattes or another hot tea! I literally couldn’t live without it. I also love this air fryer, it’s 9 quarts so can handle large batches!
I know it’s the cheesiest blog title but it’s basically a tradition at this point. Regardless of the cheesy side, these tops ARE all so cute and great for fall transitioning!!
At dinner last night I was talking to my friend about how hard it’s getting to find dresses that excite me that aren’t $1000. Like what is happening. There’s a time and place but it’s shocking me that soooo many things just seem so much more expensive now. Spoiler there are some pricey items in this New & Now round up today, BUT there are also lots of $200ish items, too! In fact my favorite dress in today’s round up is one of them!
I’m sharing 9 of my tried and true favorite products that I use every week – and by every week for most of these I mean nearly every single day!
Boll & Branch Sheets – Their signature sheets are THE BOMB. I have two sets that we switch out every week. So luxurious.
Vitamix 7500 – A new favorite of mine that I can’t stop using and looking up recipes for. It’s sort of a lifestyle changer. And it’s nearly 50% off right now!!
Addison Bay Leggings – I wear these leggings for my at-home work outs. They’re so thin and soft and stretchy!
Glossier Ultralip – So much moisture and the portrait shade is one of my most favorite lip colors ever.
Kindle Paper White – I read on this every night before bed, and sometimes in between too. It’s so fast to download books, the screen lets you see it fully in the sun, and the battery lasts for what seems like forever!
True Botanicals Chebula Serum – Nothing new here you all know how much I love TB products and this Chebula Serum is so good! I recommend ALL of their products!
Bralette – First thing in the morning I put this on, I have multiple and truly can’t recommend enough. It’s so soft and comfy and still supportive and it’s the only bra I want to wear around the house.
Dyson Air Wrap – The most magical all in one tool. I love the various dryer attachments and have been using the dryer brush attachment the most lately. And then of course the air wrap give the MOST volume. Honestly sometimes too much ha! It’s that good.
