Morning. Sharing a little life lately today. It was a great weekend here in Charleston. Halloween was a big huge success. We went simple with the kids’ costumes this year. Fletch was a pirate and Lilly was a witch. We had a neighborhood party and then trick or treating. I also spent all morning at the school for the various parades/carnivals/class parties. Halloween is a pretty big deal.
On me: this layered detail sweater, these jeans, these shoes
THIS new Places to Go, People to See KSNY book. In love with it. It’s big and thick and is full of charming novelties and ideas. Also, my shoes.
Troubadour’s Charleston showroom and some pretty new fall things.
Halloween decorations in the playroom that now need to be taken down.
Last Thursday I co-hosted a party at the Nathaniel Russell House downtown with the Historic Charleston Foundation. It was gorgeous, and I can say that because I had zilch to do with the planning. Here are two of my favorite rooms in the house…
And here’s our garden party.
Cute new book by one of our favorites, Mac Barnett. Also, this rug.
Our Saturday looked a lot like this. Chili, book reading, and a fire.
I’ve been itching to paint our front door pink and I think I finally found the perfect shade…
Remember my 2 pairs of bow back flats? I still wear them all the time. Well I just found an identical look for less pair. Just $65.
I managed to steal away for an hour downtown this weekend and picked up a new favorite sweater. It’s the high-low sweater and I’m pretty sure I’m going to get it in more colors. Simple and cozy and easy.
Hi Teresa,
Thank you for the nice comment :) Yes somehow we got by with simple accessories for our costumes this year! So the garden party was in the garden of the Nathaniel Russell House on Meeting Street downtown Charleston. Gorgeous place!
I’m enjoying your blog and especially your photos. It’s always nice to see your hometown through another set of lenses. Curious as to wear your garden party was. I’d also like to congratulate you on the fabulously simple Halloween costumes on your little ones!
That pink sweater is adorable…and I can’t wait to see your new front door! Pink will be darling!
No worries! Thanks so much – just purchased it:)
THE best. I totally am.
Hey sorry for late reply. So it runs small. I think they just have a medium right now and that would probably be perfect on you.
Wearing the high low sweater right now! (In Elm) Love it. Get it every single color!
i was eyeing that goodnight macaroon sweater in your instagram post:) thank you for sharing the source! would you say it runs true to size?
