Chassity, I’m delighted to share ideas with you! My number one fav restaurant is Peppe’s Apt 2 in Kirkwood (a central St Louis suburb). The food is described as “Italian with a Mediterranean flair”. The owner (Peppe!) and his parents came to the States from Italy and used to own a restaurant on The Hill, a popular Italian heritage neighborhood. His parents are no longer living and this restaurant is his venture. My husband and I have been followers of his for 30 years!! This restaurant is very small (seats about 48) and the decor is charming. The food is superb! Reservations are a must due to the small size (best to call in advance). We were fortunate enough for Peppe to allow us to reserve the entire restaurant for our son’s rehearsal dinner last summer and it was perfect!! They are open for lunch Tues-Friday (I think that’s right) and dinner Tues-Saturday. We are actually dining there this weekend! The phone number is 314-909-1375. I would love to know if you go there and if so, please tell Peppe I sent you” As far as boutiques, gosh, it depends on the area you will be in. There is a nice group of shops on Clayton Road in Ladue….including Pink Magnolia, our signature Lilly Pulitzer store. If you are going to be in the west county (Chesterfield) area, I have recently discovered a cute boutique called Rachel’s Grove. She carries Jude Cannally and Katherine Way and also feature some St Louis designers. They have a website so you can check it out to see if it would be of interest. I would be happy to advise on anything you have questions about!!
