You Guys. Get ready for your mind to explode because I’m about to show y’all the coolest new toy. I’ve been playing around with my new HP Sprout PC. It features a dual screen (one HD touchscreen and a dynamic interactive touch mat), an HP illuminator to project and capture hi-res 3D images, and a built in web cam for live chats. It’s sort of the new, all purpose creativity station for designing, collaborating, and doing.

So one of my favorite features of HP’s new Sprout is the overhead camera. With it you can transform any object into a 3D image. You just lay your object on the interactive touch mat and tap the camera icon on the HD touchscreen. In this example I’m taking a picture of a plate setting.

From there you can manipulate it on the interactive mat to resize, move around, edit… I scanned in another image of my mostly empty pie pan. I mean, I could have just placed it on the table setting in the first scan, but where’s the fun in that? HA! I’m addicted.

So let’s focus a little more on the interactive touch pad down there, because that’s where so much happens. I uploaded one of my iPhone pictures of water to use as background for a text graphic. You wouldn’t know from the pictures here but to get images from the touch screen down to the touch pad you can just flick them down there with a simple little motion. Kinda like magic.

Then you can move, resize and edit. One of my most favorite features of the Sprout is the ability to write with your finger (or you can use the stylus).
