At dinner last night I was talking to my friend about how hard it’s getting to find dresses that excite me that aren’t $1000. Like what is happening. There’s a time and place but it’s shocking me that soooo many things just seem so much more expensive now. Spoiler there are some pricey items in this New & Now round up today, BUT there are also lots of $200ish items, too! In fact my favorite dress in today’s round up is one of them!
Wearing:
black mini dress, Cult Gaia platform sandals, Jane Win heart necklace
pink dress, platform heels, black embroidered dress, mini bucket bag,
yellow dress, espresso stripe dress, brown flats, block print mini dress,
strapless tulle dress, leather bag, fall floral maxi, cream sweater
Okay Loeffler’s new Fall is so good I might have to have these platform heels. I’m REALLY into this fall floral maxi dress. This tulle dress would be stunning for a special event. I’m obsessed with this mini bucket bag for fall, the color is amazing. And this black embroidered mini dress is fab!!
I’m so glad you said this Chassity! I feel the same way!🥴 No one is talking about this!! I love following content creators/influencers for style ideas, just like I used to read fashion magazines, but feel that so many of the content creators/influencers I follow don’t even acknowledge the astronomical prices of a lot of things they post. I’m all for investment pieces, but seeing someone post a $300 blouse paired with jean shorts, then the next day, something equally new and expensive, without acknowledging that this just isn’t accessible for many people is depressing. I love that you wear your clothes many times too. And you look beautiful in them! That is another issue – constantly posting new, very expensive items from Shopbop. Again, just not accessible for many people. Unfortunately, the brands I love – Hunter Bell, Wiggy Kit, Mirth, Mille, Rhode are just darn expensive and don’t really go on sale. I’m trying not to give into fast fashion, but it feels like something has to give! Even with a decent job, spending 4 or $500 for a dress more than once a season is really tough ://
