While catching up with friends over lunch earlier this week, my girlfriend brought up the subject of age and aging. And we all agreed that you are as young as you feel. But it was the way that she described her mother’s experience with aging that struck me. How she’ll look in the mirror and be shocked. Who is this person? Not the young women that she felt she still was.
So a couple of days later when I stumbled upon Tom Hussey’s Reflections photographs showing former selves of elderly people I just felt it was serendipitous and that I should share it with you.
Makes you think, doesn’t it? You can view Tom Hussey’s entire Reflections series here.
I really have never given that much thought to the whole aging thing, but lately I’m kind of concerned about it!
Wow! This really is incredible. I can’t imagine looking in the mirror and not recognizing the older person looking back at you. I do think that you can feel young by thinking you are. My grandma is 91 and just went to Europe on a trip last year and is still young at heart!
Chassity these images are wonderful! Thank you for sharing, very poignant.
