Charleston’s restaurant scene is literally bursting with amazing options. There seems to be a new and highly anticipated restaurant opening every week. While Tuckernuck was here shooting their current Lifestyle Guide we stopped by Basic Kitchen (one of my new favorites) for a drink and some snacks. They serve a local and healthy menu and I love going there for breakfast or lunch. Not to mention it’s absolutely beautiful inside.
My favorite items on Basic Kitchen’s menu are the cauliflower “wings” and the rainbow bowl. SO good!

With so many good restaurant options here in Charleston it’s hard to go wrong, but we have some places that stand out to me as the best. So in no particular order here are my current top 10 spots.
CURRENT TOP 10 CHARLESTON RESTAURANTS:
Xiao Bao Biscuit – My #1 spot in town. I’m addicted to the Mapo Dou Fu!
Le Farfalle – I’ve never had a pasta there that I haven’t loved.
Basic Kitchen – Healthy, fresh, and gorgeous space!
Halls – Best steak house in town. The people watching in the bar is entertaining, too.
Indaco – You can’t go wrong here. I especially love the burrata and the bolognese pizza.
The Ordinary – Grab a seat at the bar & order the crab toast (& a lobster roll if you’re there on a Tuesday).
167 Raw – I might be a creature of habit but I suggest the lobster roll!
Little Jacks Tavern – Best burger in town, imo.
Obstinate Daughter – On Sullivan’s Island. Amazing food in a beautiful setting.
Goat Sheep Cow North – Great spot to cozy up with a cheese board, fondue, and wine.
Special Shout Outs:
Workshop – Upscale food court and family friendly, too
Restaurant Tu – There’s nothing like it in Charleston, & bonus it’s by the co-owners of XBB
Betty’s – Diner style, family friendly in Mt Pleasant
The Daily at The Gibbes – Perfect excuse to see what’s new at Charleston’s best museum
Rarebit – Great late night food.
