One blessing of living in Charleston is that our weather is pretty great all year long, making spending time outdoors one of our favorite pastimes. And we especially love to be outside with Lilly and Fletcher, when the bugs leave us alone… Getting bit up is pretty much the first thing to ruin a nice evening.
So I was completely game when Nutone reached out to us about trying their new Haven Backyard Lighting & Mosquito Repellent System that they just introduced this season. Any mosquito free backyard is a great yard in my mind. And they always flock to me for some reason! Anyone else? My grandmother has always said it’s because I’m so sweet. :)
The Haven Backyard Lighting & Mosquito Repellent System is a set of landscape fixtures that provide season long, effective protection from mosquitos. It works quickly, within 15 minutes of use, and it’s odorless and silent! The only reason we notice that the system is on is because it’s totally working and keeping the mosquitos away!
About 4 weeks ago Josh installed the system and thought it was really easy. Four Haven fixtures protect a typical patio, and we installed 8 of them so that they would cover our courtyard as well as the pool area. The system is simple to turn on, or you can program it for automatic operation during peak times. Here’s what they look like. We chose the system without the landscaping lights.
Each cartridge in each fixture lasts a full season, and they are really simple to replace – pretty much a big win in our book over here! You can find out more about Nutone’s Haven Mosquito Repellent System right here!

Hey Shannon! Thank you so much. Yes we have really loved it this summer! I’m glad we got the 8 fixtures to cover the whole pool area space, too. We almost didn’t!
Hey Katie! Yes we really love it!! Be sure to get the right amount of fixtures for your space size! :)
Thank you Cheyanne!
Cute backyard – but is it working so far?
Very interested in this system…does it work?
Beautiful pictures!
