As you may have seen on instagram I visited Greensboro & Madison Georgia a couple of weeks ago with Explore Georgia. It was such a fun week and I’m excited to tell you a little more about the visit!
I brought my friend Gray, and I was so excited to meet up with Blair, Jocelyn, Jules, & Jenny. After we landed in Atlanta we headed toward Greensboro with a stop at the Oconee Brewery. It was so pretty and fun to tour this brand new brewery and have some time to mingle!

Then we checked in at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds on Lake Oconee, which was such a hidden gem that I want to make it back to with my family. It’s right on the lake (obviously) so there are a ton of outdoor activities. Unfortunately it rained the majority of our time there so I didn’t get to do the water activities, but I did spend a full day in the spa and can tell you that it’s pretty amazing :) This Ritz had a special feeling to it compared to other Ritz Carlton’s. A little more laid back without foregoing the amenities. I loved it!

The next morning we headed to Madison, GA to check out Heritage Hall, a beautiful home built in 1811. No surprise, this was one of my favorite parts of the trip! I love exploring historical homes and hearing the stories.
Next we visited the Honeymoon House (great name) which was recently renovated by the owner of Stanton Home Furnishings. It was fun to see how the owners updated the historic home (built in 1831) and expansive gardens!
After the tour we checked into the James Madison Inn which was adorable and right in the middle of town! Here I am on our balcony in my citrus dress pretending that they’re actually peaches instead :)
The wonderful thing about this press trip is that it was not only filled with fun activities but it also had a lot of down time, too! Gray and walked all over downtown Madison checking out the cute old houses and shops.

On our last full day in Madison we woke up for yoga at Serenata Farms – look at these cute dogs that greeted us! I hadn’t done yoga in years (like maybe 9 years?) and it felt nice to do it again. I do think I’m more of a pilates kind of girl though.
And then we visited Farmview Market for lunch, where everything is from GA (or a state that touches). We made lavender satchels (that I brought home for Lilly), and mixed tea. And we found lots of peaches :)

That night we went to our new friend Zeb’s adorable flower shop Le Petit Jardin for cocktails before dinner at the Kirby House. It was a lovely end to our stay in Madison, which I must admit, stole my heart a little bit. What a lovely town those enchanting people get to call home. Small towns always have my heart a little bit (I’m from a small town).

The next morning our way to the airport we stopped at Yestersay Cafe in Rutledge GA which, no surprise, had superb biscuits and sausage gravy.

Thank you to Explore Georgia for an amazing week :) I can’t wait to visit again!
We LOVE the Ritz at Lake Oconee. Such a great family spot. Beautiful pics! ?
