It’s always funny to hear how others describe you, don’t you think? A friend of mine recently told me that she overheard her husband describing my style as “she’s the kind of girl that will wear a blouse all the way buttoned up, a hipster”. Well I wouldn’t call myself a hipster, but I do regularly wear my blouses all buttoned up. I just think it’s an easy way to change up your look. So when I found this zip-back stripe collar shirt at J.Crew I knew it needed to be mine. It’s good with pants, shorts, skirts, jeans, whatever.
zip-back stripe collar shirt, black minnie pant, lf copper forrest clutch
chinese laundry d’orsay flat (also available here), warby parker greta sunnies ℅,
too faced lip in razzle dazzle rose
I’ve had these minnie pants for a few years now and they’re still rock solid – J.Crew makes them right. It’s a flattering and comfortable style that has earned a right in every girl’s closet. And I’ve had those Chinese Laundry flats for awhile, too, and they’re in great condition. At just $59 they’re a no brainer. They look legit plus come in a bunch of different colors.
I’ve been playing around with my new flat iron by ghd that the girls over there were so sweet to send to me. It heats up in under 10 seconds (no lie!) and straightens like a dream. Easily the best straightener I’ve ever had. I’ve been practicing curling my hair with it, too. This day I was going for a loose wave and love that it actually turned out the way I was hoping it would. Who knew you could curl your hair with a straightener? I mean, I’ve heard before that you could but it seemed out of my comfort zone. Always fun to learn new tricks.
I’ve been wearing my Warby Parker sunnies around everywhere. They’re comfortable and fun and an amazing brand. Did you know that for every pair purchased Warby Parker gives a pair to someone in need? This past summer they hit a total of 500,000 pairs of glasses distributed (imagine where they are now). That’s just awesome.
Word. There was clearly something awesome going on over to my right. Buy the minnie pant.

I was looking for reviews of this J.Crew top and found your blog! It looks amazing in this outfit on you. :) It has that purity vibe that I love.
Aw thank you Gaby!!
The soft color of that shirt looks so good on you, it really suits you ;)
And I’ll say it again, those glasses are way too fab!
[…] the ghd flat iron that I’ve been using (and talked about in yesterday’s What I Wore post). Seriously love […]
Thank you so much Sara. I heart yours too.
Oh geesh I love you.
It’s so interesting, never how I expect.
Oh no that would totally figure!!
I love your sense of style Chassity!
Seriously….are you a celebrity? You look so gorgeous and such a hipster.
Charleston isn’t hard to fall in love with :) Thank you so much, Andrea!! xo
First of all, you have made me fall in love with a city I’ve never been to. Seriously, I was looking at real estate today to escape this craptacular weather we’ve been having in the midwest.I mean you still have flowers?!
And you’re adorable. I love that your friend’s husband even knew how to describe that style. Mine would describe hipster style as grungy converse and beanies. And that’s it.
hahha yes! I am always asking my friends like how would you describe to me to someone!
Gorgeous! I love those CL flats. Bought them in two sizes and neither worked. I’m in between half sizes, apparently. But they sure are pretty and you rock them well!
Weeeeell I don’t know about that but I appreciate your vote of confidence :) xo Lauren!
Girl, I am pretty sure you could make anything hip! So cute!!
Thank you Liz. You know where to find us! :) But I’ll be crying soon when you’re in FL.
So perfect! Also, this backdrop kind of makes me want to cry. #mustmove
Jill – thank you!! This was my second try of curling it with the flat iron (the first time wasn’t so great). Also, GHD has tutorials on their website!
tomboy chic! i’m still trying to master the art of curling my hair with a flat iron- i still prefer my curling wand, but your hair makes me want to try the flat iron again!

Really? Yeah this style is super comfy! I’ve never had a problem, even when I first got them.
Are your shoes comfy? I got some Chinese Laundry flats with an ankle strap for Christmas and they are so cute, but absolutely killing my feet.
