We have been awarded with so many Fall trend choices this year. Yesterday on Instagram I shared my 5 Fall jacket trends I’ll be wearing – some structured leather and some soft chocolatey suede among them. What I didn’t expect was one of my favorite authors, Sarah Sadler, to shoot me a DM with a character bio for each look/vibe. Really fun, right? So thank you Sarah, here are my Fall jacket personas!

Brenna: Begged her mother Connie to take out a HELOC to open a boutique and immediately regretted it. Wants to be a Somme. Doesn’t know how to tell Connie.
Brown Suede: Shades of brown and velvety suede are BIG for fall. This is my old JCrew jacket from college but I’m loving this camel suede jacket, this cropped button down, and this classic lady suede jacket. Also really like this leather shrunken jacket from Madewell!

Gretchen: Waiting for Jeremy in Jackson Hole for the final leg of the annual LoToJa Classic where she thought he would propose but instead he didn’t leave Utah and met a fellow racer named Amanda.
Oversized Barn Jackets: An easy and casual staple I really like this waxed Barbour jacket and this cord collar coat! Also really love this cropped version from JCrew.

Campbell: Senator’s daughter from Louisiana. Very few noticeable flaws. Leaves conversations that turn gossipy. Isn’t on social media. Still in love with her high school English teacher. Smokes cigarettes in the shower.
Lady-Like Creamy Tweeds: One of my favorite layers to throw over dresses or jeans! I have this Tanya Taylor creamy boucle jacket and I love the shape. I’m also loving this new button down jacket from Tuckernuck and this one from JCrew!

Sadie: Met Rob, a budding microbrewer at FSU in 2016. Learned all of his secrets and started her own private label Kambucha wine cooler after he sent a late night text to Ashley asking ‘u up?’. Wildly successfully. Still fueled by revenge and Tay Swift’s song Mad Woman.
Dark Denim: Never gets old and I love an oversized look. This Agolde balloon jacket, this cropped boxy jacket, and this oversized sherpa lined cropped jacket are all so good!

Lauren: A girl’s girl. Loves planning dinner parties and listening to murder podcasts. Perpetually late. Has promised to do stand-up comedy for her 35th birthday.
Structured Leather: This is another old JCrew leather jacket of mine from college! I’m so glad I hung on to these. The streamlined and structured leather look is really in this fall and I’m loving this zip up one from Madewell, this nutshell zip up jacket, and this gorgeous one too!
