Anyone else feeling fluffy after two months of sin? Don’t tell me it’s just me. So today’s post is dedicated to getting active. Some people love going for a run, some people love classes. I love working out at home. Which, as you all know, is why we turned our sunroom into a home gym.

But that doesn’t mean that I jump up every morning excited to knock out a long work out. I’m seriously not trying to act like I’m a great example, or like I know anything about anything really. But I did want to share a few things that I love. Most of my workouts take place on my Peloton, on my Allegro 2 pilates reformer, or on my Manduka yoga mat. If I had lots of extra space I’d get a treadmill, too, so that I could cruise-control walk at an incline and binge watch netflix (anyone else looking forward to season 3 of Good Girls?). But I love going for walks in my neighborhood and listening to music or podcasts (I like these headphones). And I like to wear these adjustable bangle weights on my wrists or ankles (they come in 13 colors) and are amazing.

Sometimes I prefer to make up my own routines, and sometimes I like to use a workout app. The apps I like are Peloton’s (you don’t have to own a peloton to subscribe) and Sweat. And I just started using the Obe Fitness app, and I’m really liking it! You can do it on your phone but it’s super easy to fling onto your tv as well (which is what I do)! If you use the code CHASSITY30 you’ll receive 30% off of your first month! Some of the gear I’ve picked up for these workouts include a foam muscle roller, a large exercise balance ball, and a 9 inch bender ball (all shown above).

In the photo above are some of my most favorite tools, the mini toning ball weights. They’re soft and comfortable to hold and come in different weights. What I like about them most of all is that they can easily be tossed down to the ground in the middle of exercises. You can’t really do that with barbells. Lilly likes using these, too.

New workout clothes always motivates me as well. I’ve been wearing a lot of biker shorts. That twist front long sleeve top is the cutest layer to throw on with leggings. And a cute strappy sports bra can look good under dresses and tank tops as well!

Now this v-neck hoodie in the collage above is one of the cutest finds I’ve seen recently. It looks good alone or layered as shown above, and is made of a comfy, distressed terrycloth material that’s smooth on the outside but cushy on the inside. And the color options are gorgeous.

Last but not least… This vintage style standing floor fan is one of my most favorite purchases! It looks sooo good and is adjustable and is a total workhorse. It comes in a creamy white color as well, and also in a table top version (which I just gifted to my mom for Christmas). I can’t recommend it enough.

Happy New Year!! I don’t know about you but I’m excited to start a new decade. It just brings a whole “you can do or start anything” kind of feeling. Looking back on the decade, it was definitely a good one for me that I know I’ll remember as some of the best years of my life. While I miss having babies, Lilly and Fletcher sure are fun at this age. And I just feel so thankful to be together and healthy and happy. That’s all I could really want. And overall, 2019 was a good end for the decade. I feel so grateful for this little space to share, and for all of you who come here to read who feel like good friends to me. I love sharing favorite finds, makers, products, places… And I’ll continue to do that. And I thought my first post of 2020 should be a nod to my favorite finds from 2019. In no particular order…

FAVORITE FINDS OF 2019

This Everlane cashmere sweater is one of my favorite things I purchased this year. It’s soft and cozy and is my go to cold weather sweater. I love the square crop shape, and it comes in a lot of great colors.

City of Girls is probably the best book I read all year. I couldn’t put it down. It’s so good in fact that it’s being turned into a movie. Reason enough to read it before the movie comes out.

This Hair Perfector treatment by Olaplex is like magic in a bottle. You know when you hair just feels kind of grimy and you’re not sure why? Well this is the magic stuff that washes it all away and resets my hair. I’ve gone through a couple of bottles now. Also worth noting, it says to leave on your hair for about 10 minutes but I usually do just a couple of minutes, as recommended by my hair stylist.

Okay, so I started “collecting” Carrie Forbes sandals a while a go, but I did buy a few new pairs in 2019 and they were 100% one of my most worn items of the year. They look good with everything and are so comfortable!

The Amazon dress. Yes, that Amazon “nightgown” dress that went viral. It’s under $30, feels like a nightgown, and comes in a ton of pretty prints. Cute enough to wear to dinner, but I prefer to wear it casually during the day.

This silicone dish sponge is one of my best kitchen tricks. It doesn’t get all icky like regular sink sponges, so it lasts a whole lot longer.

I bought my first pair of Tretorn sneakers this year and they’re THE best! I can jog in them, but let’s be honest and say I mainly run errands and walk and travel in them. 100% recommend these sneakers.

I could talk about a lot of things that I love in that picture above, but specifically for this post let’s focus on the woven plant stand by the fireplace. The best way to give a little lift to a cute plant and some height to an empty corner. More plants this year.

My J.Crew swimsuits get SO much wear, and I know that they’re a reader favorite too. Both my pink scoop neck suit and my navy underwire suit are classics and family friendly, too.

I finally upgraded by vacuum cleaner last year after using our old one for 12 years! To say I’m in love with our cordless Dyson vacuum is putting it mildly. It’s a life changer!! Especially when Lilly does the vacuuming for me :)

Another new hair product I started using last year is Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo. Long name, but easy to use and super effective! I use it at home all the time, and I especially love traveling with it, too! Also that white floral wrap dress I’m wearing is another favorite dress from last year.

2019, the year when Tuckernuck released one of the best dresses ever, the taffeta shift shirt dress. Seriously one of the best most versatile most adorable dresses I’ve seen in a awhile. I want it in every color.

A few more 2019 honorable mentions: The year when these hangers made organizing my closet so much easier. I will always have one of these tunic cover ups in my carry on bag. The holy grail of eye make up remover. And my favorite blankets to curl up with.

Yesterday I started all of my holiday shopping and found myself on Chappy’s blanket website because they just make the best gifts for basically everyone. I discovered ChappyWrap this past summer when I was invited to an incredible lunch hosted by my friend Kristin at the founder’s home on Kiawah.

I can’t believe I haven’t shared these photos here yet! It was such a pretty and fun day with blogger friends. I hadn’t heard of ChappyWrap yet so it was great to get to know the mother and daughter behind the brand and see all of the designs in person.

And drink wine poolside and eat lobster rolls. I mean if only every day was like that.

Their kids collection of mini blankets is seriously adorable. I love the little blue fish print!!

If you still have someone on your list to buy for and are struggling, then here are some great ideas! They’re practically the only blankets we curl up with on the couch these days.

Shop Chappy’s whole site right here and take advantage of free shipping today, too! I have this blue stripe blanket and this creamy high tides blanket (you’ve probably seen them on my sofas in photos). Lilly and I fight over them every night! They’re seriously THE best.

Surprise!! I have another dreamy Giveaway for you today! I’ve partnered with my blogger friends Kristin Chambless and Jillian Eversole to give away an epic Charleston Getaway Giveaway Package!

We’ve partnered with some of our most favorite downtown Charleston spots to curate a pretty dreamy getaway package that makes even a local like me want to have a staycation! It all kicks off with a 2 night weekday stay at Zero George hotel, one of the most charming spots in the city. Zero George is a gorgeously restored historic, boutique hotel comprised of 16 lush guest rooms. The design throughout the main inn and 2 carriage houses is enchanting and is the best spot to relax. And the candle lit Zero restaurant is delicious, as well.

We have a few fun activities pulled together included in this giveaway to make for a perfect Charleston experience! Enjoy 2 Level 3 CBD Pedicures from The Water Room, Charleston’s nail salon with a clean conscience. Not only is The Water Room visually stunning, they focus on clean, non toxic beauty. It’s a truly special experience. Also included in the giveaway are 2 Walk & Talk Tour Charleton Tickets with the Lid Lady, Tyler Wright. I actually haven’t done one of her tours but it is now high on my list. Both Kristin and Jillian sing Tyler’s praises and I’m now wondering where she’s been all my life – must book a tour stat!! Additionally, one of my personal favorites, experience The Gibbes Museum for two! The Gibbes is art collection spans 4 centuries and connects the city’s artistic past and to a vibrant contemporary art scene. Included with the tickets is a snack in The Daily cafe located inside the museum, as well as a special discount in the museum store.

And because Charleston’s food scene is so fantastic, we are also including gift cards to 4 amazing downtown restaurants! First up, a $150 gift card to Henrietta’s! I recommend brunch or dinner at this brasserie, and prepare to stay awhile because it’s just so beautiful that you won’t want to leave! And how about a $100 gift card to the most instagramable restaurant in town, Basic Kitchen! Don’t worry, their locally sourced menu is just as amazing (I love the cauliflower wings for lunch). Next up, a $100 gift card to one of the best french bistros in town, Purlieu! They also happen to have one of my most favorite burgers ever. And lastly, cap off your night with drinks and a bite at Babas on Cannon. This spot is great with friends or for a date night – and the bartenders are some of the best in town!

And we have one more inclusion for our giveaway – a $500 gift card to my favorite clothing boutique in town, Hampden Clothing! I know!! Hampden carries the coolest new designers and spans over 4 retail spaces on King Street, so it’s basically impossible to walk out empty handed. It’s that time of year when I spend all of my money at Out of Hand. Seriously though, they’re one of my favorite local boutiques all year round, but especially at Christmas time because they have the best gifts for basically every single person on my list. And even better news – they have an amazing online website now, too! They’re not just for the Charleston locals anymore!

camel funnel neck sweater, similar red plaid bag

I regularly shop at OOH for make up (they carry some of my favorite brands like RMS and ILIA), flowers (their floral department is phenomenal), and cute clothes and accessories. This time of year I stock up on gift cards for teachers and other unique gift ideas. Here is just a sampling of the amazing items you’ll find online and in store!

OOH has one of the best ornament department, hands down. They have the cutest themed gift boxes (welcome to the neighborhood, spa day, many thanks…). And they have a lot of great finds for guys, too. And you know how hard they are to shop for. I’m thinking that sunscreen powder brush and the Indie Lee bath salts would be great in my own stocking! And that beautiful silk pillow case is half the price of the Slip pillowcases!

If you’re local you should 100% pop in the Out of Hand store, they’re located right in the Old Village neighborhood on a really charming, historic street. Pop into the Pitt St Pharmacy next door for a milkshake after. If you’re not local (or just real busy) check out their website!
