I wanted to see what you all bought the most of in January, and I’m loving what turned up. So many of my own tried and trues are included! Let’s dive in.
Green Crochet Mini – This is just darling, cute with flats or dressed up with heels.
Fabric Covered Boxes – Okay there are four different fabrics to choose from and they’re all so gorgeous. Great for bookshelves of console tables or in your closet.
Blue & Red Blouse – I have this and it’s SO fun to wear. I love the sleeves.
Happy Weekend. It’s snowing in Charleston right now. We are supposedly getting a few inches – very exciting for our city!
Let’s dive into the weekly rounds –
What I’m Wearing This Week:
– Just got this new blue floral jacquard dress from Tuckernuck and like one of my DMs said, it’s giving Bridgerton! I love her so much. I’d say it runs large.
– I just got a new set of Negative’s whipped tank and pants in their mist color. I did the matching bra this time too. I just can’t get enough of the way this fabric feels. I do a small in the pants and a medium in the top (it runs small).
– I love these athletic socks with my sneakers when I walk on the treadmill, they’re so cute.
– My new lip chic came and I LOVE it. I’ve loved this brand for a long time. Tuberose is my favorite shade.
– My Varley puffer has been keeping me warm this week. They make an excellent coat. I must say.
What I’m Considering Buying This Week:
– Veronica Beard’s new collection oh my goodness there are so many amazing pieces we’re going to be seeing everywhere including this plaid jacket, this scarf print dress, and this paisley dress.
– I bought this long sleeve green applique dress and am so exited about it, it’s gorgeous. More sizes here, and it really its just fun to see it on different models for fit. I got the size AU6.
– JCrew just updated their rollneck sweater and it’s a great new look. I love the cuff and neck details, and it comes in a ton of colors!
– I ordered two dresses from Hill House and they do not disappoint even a little bit. First this blue floral mini dress, the fit is so amazing b/c the fabric is sturdy but also kinda stretchy. More sizes here. And the other HH dress I got is this black flutter top dress which is just so elegant! Love them both.
– Something else on my radar is this blue dress that now comes in a long version – everyone loved the short version so I bet this one will be really popular too!
What I’m Reading, Watching, & Listening To:
Okay I started the new Bridgerton season 4 and am quite excited about this Cinderella spin this season. I know not everyone is excited about it but I’m feeling positive about it. Though I’m not so sure I can get around the main character, he’s just never been a favorite of mine.
I also FINALLY started Heated Rivalry. Holy smokes. I have to watch with the remote pointed at the tv just in case someone comes in. I can see how their story will get really good but I’m only getting to season two at time of writing this, so I’ve yet to understand why everyone is talking about it so much. But from what I understand from the internet it gets reallllly good a few episodes in and everyone loves “the cabin”.
My hair stylist (who I consider a friend after going to her for 17 years) recommended the book The Red Tent to me and I’m almost finished with it. It is an entirely different type of book than what I read, but it’s fascinating. It’s set in biblical times, but isn’t overly religious in a way that could have turned me off. I feel like I’m learning a lot about what living back then was like for a woman. I had never heard of this book but it was originally published in 1997 and then was even turned into a Lifetime miniseries in 2014.
What I’m Looking Forward To:
BIG book news coming this week you guys. That’s all I’m going to say but get ready!! I am SO excited!!
Under $100 Wins:
Wearing: Sweatshirt and sweatpants set (mine is actually the frank and eileen set but i can’t find it on their website anymore)
– My frank & eileen sweats set has been duped on Amazon and the reviews are GOOD.
– Forgive me if I’ve already talked about this, but I don’t think I have, but this face tanning spray and brush is one of my favorite things I’m using right now! It’s so easy and gives the best little subtle glow for winter time.
I finished The Nightingale last week. This isn’t a new book, in fact I read it 10 years ago, but enough time had passed that I decided I wanted to re-read. I know I already talked about it, but it really does feel like an important book. Plus it’s being adapted into a movie with the Fanning sisters.
I replaced our electric kettle with this adorable blue one and am SO impressed. It heats up faster, it heats up so much more quietly, and it’s way more beautiful. A total win.
Also while we are talking about obsessing over things… the flora swimsuit. She is SUCH a beaut!! Who spotted the burnt orange color in People We Meet On Vacation?!
Last week I went on a little girl’s trip to The Potlatch Club, a small resort on Eleuthera in The Bahamas. I’d been hearing from Harbour Island friends that it is so lovely and relaxing, so I was excited go see it!
It recently went through an extensive renovation by the owners, along with the the design help of our fave – Amanda Lindroth. She also designed The Dunmore and The Dunlin, so you know it’s good.
The resort has cute cottages spread out over the property. We stayed at The Pineapple House, and this was our view. I mean, it’s just absolutely incredible!
Design details in The Pink Sands cottage. You know I love the pink!
The main restaurant has such incredible food, there really wasn’t one meal I didn’t love! I highly recommend ordering the coconut margarita (off menu).
I got a few questions on instagram asking how close The Potlatch Club is to Harbour Island. Boat-wise – pretty far. The owner said it’s about 5 hours. But in the car it’s not so bad. It’s located on Eleuthera, which is Harbour Island’s main island and is where you fly into. From ELH airport The Potlatch is just a 1.5 hour car ride away, so it’s really not too far! You could also fly into Governor’s Harbour Airport, which is just 15 minutes away from the resort. We flew into ELH on our way there, and out of GH on our way out, just because that’s the schedule that worked best for us.
– Swearing by my no make up make up. Trust. It’s just the easiest of all.
– And I brought my rainbow ring to The Bahamas this week – I’m just amazed at how gorgeous it is especially for the price.
What I’m Considering Buying This Week:
– It’s TIME!! Me & Em’s new spring collection has started to roll in including new cheesecloth pieces. You all know that their cheesecloth fabric is my fave. Once you know, you know. How fabulous is this twist front dress?! This print comes in a really cute short dress version, too.
– Negative just came out with the prettiest shade of pink for Valentine’s Day and I love it in this whipped boyfriend tee. Gorgeous!
I re-read The Nightingale this week. It had been about 10 years since I read it and honestly I barely remember any of it. Basically it’s historical fiction following two french sisters during World War 2 and their struggle to survive during the German occupation. The home searches, the concentration camps, the brutality… It’s obviously an incredible book and is so important and so well written. It’s not at all what I normally like to read, b/c I prefer an escape, but I’m glad that I re-read it.
I haven’t had much time to watch anything this week, but I have been consuming all the Beckham family drama, as well as the Blake Lively/Justin B drama along with Blake’s texts with our girl Swift. The internet has been giving us some epic memes! And Popapologists gave us two great episodes diving into it all. Do I think Brooklyn should have gone public with those comments? No. Do I think there’s probably a lot of truth behind what he’s saying? Probably. Do I think he and his wife might have their own issues? Also quite likely.
I’m looking forward to getting back on the bandwagon with some wellness things after a couple of weeks being off my routine! Like getting back to consistent use of my red light face mask – I have the currentbody series 2 and highly recommend it. I have a 10% off code for them too – CHASSITY10. And also going to get back into the 3x per week strength classes. After a busy December and early start to January I’ve probably only averaged 1 strength class a week. Not optimal, and I can tell I don’t feel as strong. So I’m looking forward to starting that back up this weekend.
So this past week was my first time getting to wear my cover up skirt from follow suit and I’m just over the moon about this brand. They’re so fun and slightly elevated. And the colors pair together are fabulous.
I needed a nice black dress for my grandmother’s funeral in Kentucky earlier this week so I went and bought this one. It’s a nice fit and felt appropriate for a Catholic Church service, and I know I’ll be able to rewear it as well.
This weekend I want to finally watch the Netflix adaptation of Emily Henry’s book People We Meet On Vacation. I’m hearing mixed reviews, but I still can’t wait to watch it. I really liked the book. It wasn’t my favorite of her books but I did really like it.
I also want to finally start Heated Rivalry. I’m so behind you guys!! I’m probably gonna skip the books and just watch the show.
I just finished In Your Dreams and what a great end to one of my favorite book series.
What I’m Looking Forward To:
I’m heading to the Potlatch Club on Monday with some girlfriends and i’ve been looking forward to this for months. It in The Bahamas on Eleuthera (which is Harbour Islands main island). I’ve heard incredible things about this place – and it was designed by Amanda Lindroth – so we know it’s gonna be good!
I’m bringing this Prada raffia bag with me. I rented it through Vivrelle, which is a members only rental site. They asked me to try out the service and I’m pretty excited about it. They have designer bags and luxury jewelry that you can rent, which is a pretty amazing idea for when you have a special event or a vacation! I feel like especially for a vacation! If you use the code CHASSITYEVANS you’ll get your first month free! So fun!
Last night I was so honored to be included at the celebratory dinner for Serena & Lily’s arrival in Charleston. The store is to die for gorgoeus. It’s on Cumberland St dtown – be sure to stop in. Before we were seated I did a little tour of the store and I fell in love with with this Granada Quilt – isn’t she beautiful? And they so kindly sent us all home with one of these super soft blankets.
