Our Ninja Creami should be on the payroll at this point for as much work as it gets. We make SO much ice cream and it’s so fun to try different mix ins. It’s the perfect after school snack!
I’m wearing this navy button down sweater (size small). And below Fletch is wearing this navy polo shirt. He’s working on the base for our next batch of ice cream. Our favorite recipe is 1 TBSP of cream cheese, 1 cup whole milk, 3/4 cup of heavy cream, 1/3 cup sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. You mix it all together and freeze for 24 hours before mixing up in the Ninja Creami. The kids favorite mix in is M&Ms. My favorite is oreo thins!
Another back to school favorite is this cute tank I bought for Lilly! It comes in a lot of colors and is only $5!
Back to School shopping already? Well Lilly is already sending me links to back to school clothes so yeah I guess we are here! Luckily Walmart is making it SUPER easy to knock it all out quick. They have all the supplies, snacks (these are Lilly’s fave), and cute clothes! I found these classic polo shirts for Fletch and ordered a few in both the white and the navy! They’re really soft and shrink resistant!
By the way I’m wearing this asymmetrical slip dress in the size small. It’s cut on the bias so it’s super flattering, and I love the cut out for the leg!
My dress also comes in black too! And these are the silver metallic sandals I’m wearing. I love the little knot detail. They’re cushioned so they’re really quite comfortable!
Here are some more Back to School Faves from Walmart!
Another round up of my Amazon finds and faves and starting it off with my tweed dress! It’s under $50 and is seriously so cute. I’m in a size small! There are loads of color options. The braided details are so sweet, I highly recommend!
Another favorite recent purchase is this plunge bra. If you saw the reel I made this week on Instagram then you can see just how plunge it is. It stayed well hidden under my boobiest dress (the true test)! These are my new cropped jeans that I’ve been wearing and they are SO comfortable and just keep the best shape. Again, highly recommend and they run TTS. Two of my new summer sandals are these platform black Tevas (super comfortable for long walking days) and these gold toe black flats (dressy and so chic)! This touch lamp has three light settings and a built in charger to rest your phone. And this woven outdoor trash bin is the prettiest I’ve ever seen. It’s good for all weather and will dress up your backyard bbqs!! There’s a black and white version as well.
Our Spring Break family trip to Rome was incredible. We did 5 full days and 5 nights and it was the perfect European getaway! The weather was incredible low to high 70’s (we went the first week of April) and so we managed some pool time in between exploring. Here are some photos and moments, at the end of the post I’ll share our specific recommendations!!
Touring the Vatican first day and a little exhausted but it was still great.
First, I cannot recommend our tour guide enough. His name is Simone and he’s an archaeologist born and raised in Rome. I can’t imagine there is someone in that city who knows more, and he is an incredible story teller. Book him for any and every tour you do! Thank you to my friend Jessica for recommending him.
We did 3 tours during our trip: The Vatican (including Sistine Chapel, The Coliseum and Roman Forum, and the Underground Rome. We loved them all! I think the Coliseum/Roman Forum was our favorite of them all.
We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria hotel. It’s up on the hill so you need to take a taxi to and from the city but we loved being in this quiet and relaxing area of Rome! We chose it for the pool and were lucky enough to get a hot and sunny week! The concierge team at the hotel was to helpful and handled all of my reservations in advance which made the trip so easy! If you’re staying in Rome for more than a couple of days and would love a great pool I’d highly recommend this hotel for families. It has a great spa, too! Oh and it included an incredible breakfast buffet everyday that came with your room rate.
There are a million restaurants you could try. We had three stand outs and they are Pianostrada, Taverna Trilussa, and Emma. We had a reservation at Pierluigi for our last night that we ended up canceling b/c we were in the mood for something casual, but I wanted to mention it because it came highly recommended from a few friends that I trust and I’m sure it would have been a favorite. In general I loved the Trastevere neighborhood the most!
Last piece of advice is to leave plenty of time to just relax and wander and explore. Especially if you’re traveling with teens! Eat all the pizza and gelato that you pass that calls your name. It was a fabulous trip and I can’t wait to go back to Italy and explore some more!
Happy Friday! As of 11:30 we are officially on Spring Break. Lilly’s on a class field trip and comes home Saturday night, we’ll celebrate Easter with family on Sunday, and then we are off to Rome on Tuesday. So excited for that trip. Josh and I were there when I was pregnant with Lilly and I loved it. So excited to take the kids.
But today I wanted to share all of my new Amazon finds and faves! Starting with my steamer that I use all of the time! It’s fabulous and can be used as an iron, too.
I’ve been using this Flex adjustable sunscreen the past few weeks and it’s my new fave beauty product. It’s like magic, you put it on and it’s white and then it ADJUSTS to match your individual skin tone. Seriously. I love it. And do you see this tanning pool?? How cool is that. So freaking adorable. I just ordered this heated eyelash curler after seeing it on TikTok. This treadmill walking pad is about 30% off right now and gets great reviews. And this clothes drying rack is both smart and beautiful and folds up and away nicely. Oh also this latte maker is almost 30% off as well.
Extra special Amazon favorites round up today with my new 80’s aerobics romper that I wore to an 80’s themed Murder Mystery party last weekend. Y’all this romper is freaking so fun. I have a size large and it comes in 3 color options. I got this leg warmer set to go with it.
Here are more of my favorite Amazon things from this week!
