Happy Monday! I hope you all had a nice weekend! I’m so excited for some slightly cooler temps here in Charleston this week. Who else is ready to wear the new fall arrivals? Today’s post is highlighting one of my favorite brands, Gal Meets Glam, and their new shoe collaboration with Margaux NY!
I absolutely LOVE this new flowery dress (also available here)! Julia, I need you to use this fabric and print MORE!! It’s light and swishy and fantastic.
Isn’t this pink velvet dreamy? I just got these loafers and have already worn them a lot. Despite being this saturated pink hue they still go with so much.
My woven bag is new, too. I love the sculptural feel to it. And the two tone jute! It’s by Khaore and their whole collection is super interesting but still has a simple feel to it. You can see more of their designs here.
One of my favorite sales ever is happening right now and truth be told that’s what inspired this entire sale round up post. Thanks Serena & Lily!! So here are ALL of my favorite Sale Finds from Around the Web!!
NET A PORTER: 15% off with the code NEWNOW5! I have this dress and it’s one of my favorite dresses to wear ever. And how freaking cool are these earrings??
SERENA & LILY: It’s Friends & Family Sale time – 20% off everything! I could literally fill an entire home with all S&L and would be superrrrr happy. I do have this linen bedding and it’s like heaven every night. These counter stools are the prettiest I’ve seen in a long time. And I always love browsing their new original art arrivals!
Last week we spent a long weekend at Montage Palmetto Bluff, one of my most favorite places in the world. We were there for the May River Music Festival, a 3 night concert series benefiting the conservancy at Palmetto Bluff.
We’ve been going to Palmetto Bluff for 8 years now. It’s one of our most loved family spots for a relaxed getaway. The kids adore it too, but this time is was just Josh and me.
Palmetto Bluff is set along the May River, and is speckled with adorable cottages! This one was our’s right on the water, and it had the most spectacular back yard and view. Absolute heaven. We sat on our screen porch a few times every day! The weather was perfect.
The first night of the May River Music Festival was sort of like a live band karaoke situation. It was seriously so fun and they should do it every weekend. You could request songs to hear, songs to sing, even songs to play yourself. I couldn’t help myself and got up there for one song, too. I sang Pontoon, by Little Big Town.
The music festival was only during the evenings, so we had the days to relax and explore. One of my favorite things we did was go for a cruise on their antique yacht, Grace. She’s over 100 years old and is a true beauty.
Since the last time we were at Palmetto Bluff there have been a few new openings. One of my favorites is Fore & Aft. It’s a great poolside mexican restaurant right on the lagoon. We ordered chorizo nachos and fish tacos.
Bike riding around the property and just exploring is definitely my favorite thing to do at PB. The bike trails are endless and I love looking at all the houses.
The second night of the May River Music Festival was waterside on the lawn at Mooreland. This concert space totally blew me away. It was dripping with starry string lights and all the trees were the perfect backdrop. We got a picnic basket with fried chicken from Cole’s, the restaurant right there at Mooreland, and watched the show!
I did a little shopping over the weekend, too. I bought this painting below by Joanna Hickey at a cute shop on property called The Paris Market. It was super cool, and they have another store in Savannah.
This little duffy boat with it’s striped canopy makes me happy every time that I see it. It shuttles people from the Inn over to The Canoe Club for dinner. So fun.
Palmetto Bluff is all about community and bringing people together, so there is no shortage of things to do there. Pickleball, tennis, bowling, golf, water activities, the pools, equestrian, the shooting club, biking…
And one of my favorite things to do, the spa!! I managed to squeeze in a massage.
Quick selfie before the last night of the music festival!
Saturday night was definitely my favorite night of all. It took place right on the main lawn by the River House. This was the first May River Music Festival, and they expect to bring it back each year. It benefits The Conservancy at Palmetto Bluff. Below I’m pictured with Jay Walea, he’s the Director of the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy and he is pretty much the heart of the Bluff. Josh and I spent a day with Jay a couple of years back exploring the far reach corners of Palmetto Bluff, (did you know that it’s 20,000 acres?)! It was great to get to see him again and be here for this inaugural fundraiser!
Ben Rector was the headliner Saturday night. I didn’t know of Ben before but I am a huge fan now. He was incredible to watch!!
The square was filled with local food trucks, and we ran into a few Charleston people there as well! It was such a great night to end a fantastic weekend! After the show we made s’mores at the fire pits.
And because the People at Montage Palmetto Bluff are so amazing, they’re offering us a discount code for you to come visit! Use the code “LOOKLINGERLOVE” for 20% off Montage Palmetto Bluff’s best available rate plus 2 complimentary bicycles for the duration of your stay! Trust me, you’ll see why it’s so special!!
Thank you to Montage Palmetto Bluff for partnering on this post.
Hi, Friends! Today’s post is coming to you from Summerville, SC. We are riding out Hurricane Dorian at Gray and Mike’s house. We were a little stir crazy, so it’s nice to be with friends!
I’ve rounded up my latest 10 Amazon Favorites. So many great finds here today :)
I get a lot of questions about where we got our swing bed on our front porch. Josh actually made ours, but I found this wooden one on Amazon and the good news isn’t it isn’t thousands of dollars like so many of them are.
I FINALLY switched out all of Lilly and Fletcher’s tiny white hangers they’ve had all of their life (I got tired of shirts falling off of them) and replaced them all with these velvet hangers for juniors. They’re not as big as adult hangers, so they don’t stretch out the neck hole of shirts and dresses. Lilly got the pink and Fletcher got grey.
I’m REALLY into these GoodHangUps. They’re little magnet sets that don’t damage your walls and are perfect for kids art and any temporary thing you want to put up. SO fun.
These bamboo drawer dividers are super smart. They’re spring loaded and adjustable, so they can work for your different drawers. They’re great for your dresser, the kitchen, your desk…
Amazon is one of my favorite spots to look for new books. I just finished Summer of ’69 and it was even better than I expected. And American Royals is FINALLY available for purchase. Can’t wait to finish my current book and start it.
In yesterday’s blog post I predicted that this utility jacket will be one of the most popular September items. It’s almost as cute as a Burberry jacket, but is only $32. Yep, gonna need it in a couple of colors.
I don’t know how in the world we are already leading into Labor Day Weekend, but here we are. Anyone with me? There are a ton of great sales happening and I’ve rounded up my 10 favorites below, including this gingham dress!
BODEN: Take 25% off children clothes! They’re one of my favorite spots to shop for Lilly and Fletch! They get jackets from here each year, and this one is awesome! And we got this top for Lilly for school this year, it’s SUPER soft.
J.Crew: 40% off of your purchase! I could go on and on with favorites here, but in an effort to save a little time, how great is this sweater blazer? And this roll neck sweater is a classic.
MACY’S: 40% – 60% off of the Labor Day Sale! This marled sweater is fantastic and comes in a lot of colors. And this navy tie front top is adorable and flattering!
SHOPBOP: Up to 75% off of the sale section! However these amazing flats found themselves in the sale section I don’t know, but they’re one of my all time personal favorites. Same goes with this bag, it’s one of my favorites and I always get compliments when I carry it. And this top is so cute for a girl’s night!
Good morning!! Today is an Etsy day! One of my favorite posts to write. I spend weeks accumulating these favorites for these favorites posts and I’m always so excited when I have enough to share!! Here are my latest Etsy finds!
On a recent girls night we were discussing the merits of keeping your butter out at room temp. My Granny has always done this and it’s just so much better this way. I’m a convert. Plus, how adorable is this ceramic butter dish?? And that linen tie top is freaking amazing. Really into it. And the matisse prints, really into those as well. Thanks for being awesome Etsy!!
