Hands down one of our most used toys in our house is our play kitchen and all of it’s fun play food and accessory pieces. Both of my kids love playing with this and have for years. They regularly set up picnics and parties, or “snacks” for us or for their stuffed animals. Such an imaginative way to play. Today only The Land of Nod is offering 20% off all kitchen and grocery items. Every year we add new play foods to our set to keep things fresh. Here are some of my favorites.

TGIF! Here’s a small round up of some of my life lately.

My long time dream of having a pink tree has come true thanks to Treetopia. So fun. How did we ever manage without one?

Loving how my bone inlay tray from Furbish looks containing all of my wrapping supplies this time of year.

One of my go to gifts this year (yet again) is Jane Pope Jewelry. Here they are all wrapped up and ready to go.

If you’re in Charleston you should stop by the Smith St Pop Up Shop in the little carriage house behind 27 Smith St. It’s adorable. Here’s a little space snap of Tink & Tiger things.

Had to have a real tree to go with our pink tree. The kids had a lot of opinions about how it would go down this year and they wanted colorful. So colorful they got. You might recognize our tree skirt from one of my outfit posts earlier this year.

Got out the Christmas china. Every year my mother in law gifts me another set and I love how they all are different. We are up to 8 sets now. How pretty is this set?

Making changes around here and here’s a color sneak peek!

This little vignette is right by our front door. I share this today because I just found that pink lady print online and I get a lot of questions about it.

Raise your hand if you like to make homemade holiday gifts? If so today’s post is for you. I’m teaming up with Aladdin (again!) to share some inspiration. I’ve been pinning DIY ideas to their Winter Wonderland Pinterest Board and wanted to highlight a few of my favorites here today. (Click each image to get more info on each idea.) I love the idea of using these ideas with Aladdin’s Classic Insulated Travel Mason Mugs for pretty and useful packaging.

One of the most popular ideas I’ve seen is a hot chocolate kit. Consider making your own marshmallows this year and pair with gift cards for your children’s teachers.

Candied nuts are easy to make and always well received (noting of allergies of course). Would be a great recipe to make in bulk and gift to extended family and neighbors.

For young families on your list I love this idea of gifting homemade cookie dough.

Help your kids make these adorable snow globes for Grandma and Grandpa. This would be such a fun project!

And it’ll be easy to include your fur loving friends this year with these cute dog treat packages.

Aladdin has a great collection of keep it hot mugs and thermoses. Here are a few of my favorites.

Browse Aladdin here and follow our Winter Wonderland Pinterest Board here. Also, Aladdin is offering 30% off products with the code “MERRYMUGS” now through the end of December!

Thank you to Aladdin for partnering on this post.

This year’s 2nd annual Garden & Gun Jubilee was so much fun. I attended the editor’s breakfast on Friday, stayed around and hung out that day, and brought my husband back yesterday. Here are a few pictures from my time there.

That Jubilee sign up there was made by Sideshow Sign Co in Nashville. Naturally it was all over instagram.

There really is so much to love about Jubilee. It celebrates the best in Southern culture by bringing together designers, artisans, chefs, musicians, sportsmen, and more, all curated by the G&G editors. It’s the perfect event to shop for yourself (and for everyone on your holiday list), taste food from nationally recognized restaurants and chefs, and just hang out and have a good time. It pretty much brings the pages of G&G magazine to life for one great weekend here in Charleston.

Lovely little shopping situations.

Charming food scenes.

Here’s my culottes wearing sister Haskell Harris. She’s the Style Director at Garden & Gun and one of my good friends who you’ve, no doubt, heard me mention a lot over the last 4 years.

If you missed Jubilee but still want to shop some of the amazing southern made merchandise check out G&G’s online Mercantile Store. Here are a few of my favorites.

And I highly recommend attending next year’s celebration.

Wishing you all a very happy Thanksgiving. We’re not traveling this year which is a nice change from our usual hectic holiday tour of families. We took the kids to see Penguins of Madagascar at the theatre last night for Fletcher’s birthday (so fun). And today we’ll spend the day with Josh’s parents and have dinner at Cypress (yay for not cooking!). I’m not sure what all the weekend will entail but I do plan to spend a lot of time on my favorite kindle reading some books (just finished this book 2 nights ago and I highly recommend it) and maybe even getting up a Christmas tree. If I were hosting Thanksgiving again this year I would’ve loved to have re-created this whole snack situation. Maybe for another get together sometime soon.

I’m so thankful for my family and friends, health and happiness, and this space that I have here with you all. I hope you all can enjoy a beautiful day with your loved ones. Please stop by early tomorrow morning for a full tricked out list of Black Friday sales and my favorites.

Every time Lilly wears this Old Navy sweater jacket I call her Chanel. It totally reminds me of Jackie O in Chanel and Lilly loves the nickname.

Old Navy’s Black Friday sale launched early and they’re offering 30% off of everything. Such a great time to stock up on some warm clothes and gifts. Here are a few more kid favorites!
