I finished The Nightingale last week. This isn’t a new book, in fact I read it 10 years ago, but enough time had passed that I decided I wanted to re-read. I know I already talked about it, but it really does feel like an important book. Plus it’s being adapted into a movie with the Fanning sisters.
I replaced our electric kettle with this adorable blue one and am SO impressed. It heats up faster, it heats up so much more quietly, and it’s way more beautiful. A total win.
Also while we are talking about obsessing over things… the flora swimsuit. She is SUCH a beaut!! Who spotted the burnt orange color in People We Meet On Vacation?!
Last week I went on a little girl’s trip to The Potlatch Club, a small resort on Eleuthera in The Bahamas. I’d been hearing from Harbour Island friends that it is so lovely and relaxing, so I was excited go see it!
It recently went through an extensive renovation by the owners, along with the the design help of our fave – Amanda Lindroth. She also designed The Dunmore and The Dunlin, so you know it’s good.
The resort has cute cottages spread out over the property. We stayed at The Pineapple House, and this was our view. I mean, it’s just absolutely incredible!
Design details in The Pink Sands cottage. You know I love the pink!
The main restaurant has such incredible food, there really wasn’t one meal I didn’t love! I highly recommend ordering the coconut margarita (off menu).
I got a few questions on instagram asking how close The Potlatch Club is to Harbour Island. Boat-wise – pretty far. The owner said it’s about 5 hours. But in the car it’s not so bad. It’s located on Eleuthera, which is Harbour Island’s main island and is where you fly into. From ELH airport The Potlatch is just a 1.5 hour car ride away, so it’s really not too far! You could also fly into Governor’s Harbour Airport, which is just 15 minutes away from the resort. We flew into ELH on our way there, and out of GH on our way out, just because that’s the schedule that worked best for us.
As I’m looking through my saved products I’m noticing a trend of going deep on certain brands. So I’m just going to share it because sometimes the collection can really tell a story better than the one-offs. So basically, today I’m sharing 5 different brands, and my favorite pieces from their new arrivals :)
Boden has truly become just one of my most favorite sites to check. Their such a colorful and happy and casual every day kind of brand – they nail it!!
Thrilled to find the new cheesecloth cotton pieces in Me & Em’s new collection because it is far and away my favorite thing they do. And I like a lot of things that they do. But once you go the cheesecloth route, you’re hooked.
– Swearing by my no make up make up. Trust. It’s just the easiest of all.
– And I brought my rainbow ring to The Bahamas this week – I’m just amazed at how gorgeous it is especially for the price.
What I’m Considering Buying This Week:
– It’s TIME!! Me & Em’s new spring collection has started to roll in including new cheesecloth pieces. You all know that their cheesecloth fabric is my fave. Once you know, you know. How fabulous is this twist front dress?! This print comes in a really cute short dress version, too.
– Negative just came out with the prettiest shade of pink for Valentine’s Day and I love it in this whipped boyfriend tee. Gorgeous!
I re-read The Nightingale this week. It had been about 10 years since I read it and honestly I barely remember any of it. Basically it’s historical fiction following two french sisters during World War 2 and their struggle to survive during the German occupation. The home searches, the concentration camps, the brutality… It’s obviously an incredible book and is so important and so well written. It’s not at all what I normally like to read, b/c I prefer an escape, but I’m glad that I re-read it.
I haven’t had much time to watch anything this week, but I have been consuming all the Beckham family drama, as well as the Blake Lively/Justin B drama along with Blake’s texts with our girl Swift. The internet has been giving us some epic memes! And Popapologists gave us two great episodes diving into it all. Do I think Brooklyn should have gone public with those comments? No. Do I think there’s probably a lot of truth behind what he’s saying? Probably. Do I think he and his wife might have their own issues? Also quite likely.
I’m looking forward to getting back on the bandwagon with some wellness things after a couple of weeks being off my routine! Like getting back to consistent use of my red light face mask – I have the currentbody series 2 and highly recommend it. I have a 10% off code for them too – CHASSITY10. And also going to get back into the 3x per week strength classes. After a busy December and early start to January I’ve probably only averaged 1 strength class a week. Not optimal, and I can tell I don’t feel as strong. So I’m looking forward to starting that back up this weekend.
So this past week was my first time getting to wear my cover up skirt from follow suit and I’m just over the moon about this brand. They’re so fun and slightly elevated. And the colors pair together are fabulous.
Tomorrow morning I’m heading to The Potlatch Club on Eleuthera in The Bahamas (Eleuthera is actually Harbour Island’s mainland, it’s where you fly into if you’re going there, just for reference). I’m going with some girlfriends and am so very excited to finally get to see this gorgeous resort. Amanda Lindroth did the design, so I just know it’ll be incredible. Of course I’ll be sharing on stories.
While I was packing and organizing I took a video of what I’m thinking about bringing! If you’d like to watch it’s on my substack!
I needed a nice black dress for my grandmother’s funeral in Kentucky earlier this week so I went and bought this one. It’s a nice fit and felt appropriate for a Catholic Church service, and I know I’ll be able to rewear it as well.
This weekend I want to finally watch the Netflix adaptation of Emily Henry’s book People We Meet On Vacation. I’m hearing mixed reviews, but I still can’t wait to watch it. I really liked the book. It wasn’t my favorite of her books but I did really like it.
I also want to finally start Heated Rivalry. I’m so behind you guys!! I’m probably gonna skip the books and just watch the show.
I just finished In Your Dreams and what a great end to one of my favorite book series.
What I’m Looking Forward To:
I’m heading to the Potlatch Club on Monday with some girlfriends and i’ve been looking forward to this for months. It in The Bahamas on Eleuthera (which is Harbour Islands main island). I’ve heard incredible things about this place – and it was designed by Amanda Lindroth – so we know it’s gonna be good!
I’m bringing this Prada raffia bag with me. I rented it through Vivrelle, which is a members only rental site. They asked me to try out the service and I’m pretty excited about it. They have designer bags and luxury jewelry that you can rent, which is a pretty amazing idea for when you have a special event or a vacation! I feel like especially for a vacation! If you use the code CHASSITYEVANS you’ll get your first month free! So fun!
Last night I was so honored to be included at the celebratory dinner for Serena & Lily’s arrival in Charleston. The store is to die for gorgoeus. It’s on Cumberland St dtown – be sure to stop in. Before we were seated I did a little tour of the store and I fell in love with with this Granada Quilt – isn’t she beautiful? And they so kindly sent us all home with one of these super soft blankets.
