As a mother it’s important to me that I raise strong, confident children. So when Dove Hair asked Lilly and me to participate in the #LoveYourHair campaign, I jumped at the chance! I love the brand and what they’re doing to empower females.

Dove Hair found that 8 in 10 women feel pressure to wear their hair a certain way. For many, these pressures began at an early age. Dove Hair believes a positive role model can greatly impact a girl’s confidence. I want Lilly to know that her hair is unique and beautiful… just like she is!

So I remind her everyday :)

Lilly loves to wear her hair different ways – one braid, two braids, pig tails, pony tail… But her favorite way is to wear it down (I think she gets that from me).

Shoe Carnival provided me with product and compensation for this post.

The opinions I have shared about the products are my own.

We are in the thick of holiday season over here and our schedules are full, in the best kind of way. Lilly and Fletcher’s favorite afternoon activity involves riding through the neighborhood belting out holiday songs and pointing out festive decorations. Such activity requires comfortable (and cool!) sneakers :) So we partnered up with Shoe Carnival for a holiday style remix.

Just call us the Converse Family (even Josh has a pair!). It’s what we each picked out when we visited our local Shoe Carnival! They’re the perfect sneaker for every day activities, plus they’re just a classic. Perfect for an updated casual holiday look.

I just wanted to take a moment to break from the fashion and favorite things to thank each and every one of you for being a part of this space. This blog community means so much to me. I often get asked how much time I put into my blog, and the truth is, it’s nearly non stop because I love it so much. Searching for things to share with you is just a natural part of my day and exactly what I want to be doing. I feel so thankful for this space and all of you.

The kids may be back in school but it still feels like a hundred degrees here in Charleston. To beat the heat last week we visited our favorite local museum, the Gibbes Museum of Art! It recently completed a 2 year renovation and we decided it was the perfect excuse to get dressed up in their new Janie & Jack outfits for a special day downtown.

Lilly’s tweet short suit kinda slays me. As soon as I saw it I knew she needed to own it. It even has a little rosette peplum top and tweed beret to coordinate.

LLL_8-9-16_janieandjack-7

It all looks so cute worn together but each piece is great on it’s own as well. It’s Lilly’s current favorite outfit that she owns.

Fletcher’s Janie & Jack stripe rugby pullover is the cutest! And he felt so grown up and mature in his green stripe tie. Here he’s trying to imitate a serious face like the subjects in this painting.

LLL_8-9-16_janieandjack-12

And his navy suede boots are so cool! I kinda want to get them in the khaki color, too.

Janie & Jack’s designs could seriously make any day feel special. From the fabrics to the tailoring, all of the details make the collection special. Check out Janie & Jack for even more cute finds and come back and tell me which you love. I have my eye on this emerald green swing coat for Lilly and this quilted vest for Fletcher.

I am officially the mother of a first grader. Yesterday was Lilly’s first day back and school and she LOVED it! Thank goodness. I vividly remember when Lilly was a baby and thinking that any kid over the age of 5 looked huge and that I just couldn’t even imagine having kids so big. Time just flies by and kids grow. Fletcher will begin his last year of pre-school in a month!

I picked up a lot of Lilly’s back to school clothes at J.Crew Factory and am so pleased with the styles and prices! This navy peter pan collar dress might be my favorite of them all. It’s so sweet.

And they have my absolute favorite t-shirts for boys. The colors are just right and they’re super soft. And Fletcher’s zip up fleece hoodie is really soft, too, and perfect for chilly mornings this fall.

Isn’t Lilly’s glitter apple purse adorable? It goes great with her glitter slip on sneakers. This is the second year in a row that we’ve gotten these sneakers for Lilly, they’re her most favorite! They’re perfect on the playground and go great with dresses or pants.

There are so many cute things in J.Crew Factory’s Back To School section! Here are a few more of my favorites for the girls and the boys – and the whole J.Crew Factory site is 40% off now through 8/18, with an additional 20% off when you use or open a J.Crew Card and use code “CARDPERK”. Happy Back to school shopping :)

Where did our summer go? And by summer I mean school break, because the heat isn’t leaving Charleston anytime soon. Seems like last week when summer began!
lll_7-7-16_shoecarnival-4

Lucky for me both Lilly and Fletcher are excited to go back to school (mainly to see all of their friends and talk about their summers…)! It’s always fun to see how everyone has grown in the short 3 month break that always manages to make the biggest difference in the lives of little ones. For instance, anyone ever notice how last year’s shoes no longer fit?
lll_7-7-16_shoecarnival-13 lll_7-7-16_shoecarnival-10

We popped over to Shoe Carnival and the kids picked out some new sneakers to run around in at recess. They have great, comfortable shoes at great back to school prices and my kids had no problem finding a pair that they loved!
lll_7-7-16_shoecarnival-2

No lie, Lilly actually said it felt like she was walking on a cloud when she put on her new shoes for the first time! And I really love the pretty shade of light blue on her Nike running shoes. It looks so cute with that little pink Nike swoosh.

And Fletcher’s cute navy New Balances… adorable in the mini size, don’t you think?? I’ve always been a big fan of New Balance and Shoe Carnival has a great collection by them. Navy is good classic color that will go with everything he has.

No surprise to any of you, back to school shopping was always my most anticipated part of the beginning of each school year :) It feels so good to get some fresh clothes and shoes and start a new year. Be sure to check out Shoe Carnival for their great back to school selection!
