Whether I’m dreaming of spring, summer, or an upcoming vacation, resort clothes are ALWAYS, hands down, my favorite style of clothes. They’re comfortable, breezy, feminine, colorful, and almost always have some sort of fun detail. Today’s New & Now feature is dedicated to the new Resort arrivals that are the cutest!

Raffia woven loafers for the win, and I can wear these in Charleston year round (it’s been 70 degrees here the last week). These would be really cute to wear while traveling to a tropical place, too.

I mean, how adorable is this Gingham one shoulder swimsuit?! That’s the perfect shade of blue, and the ruffle detail is gorgeous.

This light purple midi dress can go from beach to brunch, and would pair well with a denim jacket! And also a white denim jacket!

Do I even need to say anything about this blue stripe flowy mini dress? It pretty much screams “wear me every day”. It’s pretty popular too, so here are more sizes available here!

Now this curvy stripe crochet top grabbed my eye right away. It’s so unique! And doesn’t it look amazing with white jeans?

Banjanan keeps making this cute maxi dress in all the patterns and colors because it’s just the best shape!

I wear a majority of flat sandals in the summer and in beachy environments, so I love that these sparkly sandals add a little pizazz (how do you even spell that?) while still being comfortable.

This tiered dress is one of my most favorite shades of pink!! It’s really pretty and and easy to wear style.

When I mentioned “fun details” at the beginning of this post, the tie straps on this red maxi dress is a good example of that. A simple detail, I know, but still feminine and fun!

Okay so this white dress is my favorite thing in this whole round up! I LOVE the easy shape, the oversized sleeves, the short length, and the embroidered scallop trim! AND it comes in black as well!

Now these earrings make a statement. They’re like two beautiful sculptures for your ears.

I’m loving the tassels on this smocked white maxi dress. This just screams vacation to me!

Happy New Year!! I don’t know about you but I’m excited to start a new decade. It just brings a whole “you can do or start anything” kind of feeling. Looking back on the decade, it was definitely a good one for me that I know I’ll remember as some of the best years of my life. While I miss having babies, Lilly and Fletcher sure are fun at this age. And I just feel so thankful to be together and healthy and happy. That’s all I could really want. And overall, 2019 was a good end for the decade. I feel so grateful for this little space to share, and for all of you who come here to read who feel like good friends to me. I love sharing favorite finds, makers, products, places… And I’ll continue to do that. And I thought my first post of 2020 should be a nod to my favorite finds from 2019. In no particular order…

FAVORITE FINDS OF 2019

This Everlane cashmere sweater is one of my favorite things I purchased this year. It’s soft and cozy and is my go to cold weather sweater. I love the square crop shape, and it comes in a lot of great colors.

City of Girls is probably the best book I read all year. I couldn’t put it down. It’s so good in fact that it’s being turned into a movie. Reason enough to read it before the movie comes out.

This Hair Perfector treatment by Olaplex is like magic in a bottle. You know when you hair just feels kind of grimy and you’re not sure why? Well this is the magic stuff that washes it all away and resets my hair. I’ve gone through a couple of bottles now. Also worth noting, it says to leave on your hair for about 10 minutes but I usually do just a couple of minutes, as recommended by my hair stylist.

Okay, so I started “collecting” Carrie Forbes sandals a while a go, but I did buy a few new pairs in 2019 and they were 100% one of my most worn items of the year. They look good with everything and are so comfortable!

The Amazon dress. Yes, that Amazon “nightgown” dress that went viral. It’s under $30, feels like a nightgown, and comes in a ton of pretty prints. Cute enough to wear to dinner, but I prefer to wear it casually during the day.

This silicone dish sponge is one of my best kitchen tricks. It doesn’t get all icky like regular sink sponges, so it lasts a whole lot longer.

I bought my first pair of Tretorn sneakers this year and they’re THE best! I can jog in them, but let’s be honest and say I mainly run errands and walk and travel in them. 100% recommend these sneakers.

I could talk about a lot of things that I love in that picture above, but specifically for this post let’s focus on the woven plant stand by the fireplace. The best way to give a little lift to a cute plant and some height to an empty corner. More plants this year.

My J.Crew swimsuits get SO much wear, and I know that they’re a reader favorite too. Both my pink scoop neck suit and my navy underwire suit are classics and family friendly, too.

I finally upgraded by vacuum cleaner last year after using our old one for 12 years! To say I’m in love with our cordless Dyson vacuum is putting it mildly. It’s a life changer!! Especially when Lilly does the vacuuming for me :)

Another new hair product I started using last year is Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo. Long name, but easy to use and super effective! I use it at home all the time, and I especially love traveling with it, too! Also that white floral wrap dress I’m wearing is another favorite dress from last year.

2019, the year when Tuckernuck released one of the best dresses ever, the taffeta shift shirt dress. Seriously one of the best most versatile most adorable dresses I’ve seen in a awhile. I want it in every color.

A few more 2019 honorable mentions: The year when these hangers made organizing my closet so much easier. I will always have one of these tunic cover ups in my carry on bag. The holy grail of eye make up remover. And my favorite blankets to curl up with.

If you have a warm getaway on your horizon then you’re in luck because the resort arrivals are so-freaking-cute right now. Bella Tu is always one of my favorite brands to pack for vacation, and I brought this new blue printed midi dress with me to Harbour Island last month and wore it to Thanksgiving dinner. I love the print, the pretty shade of blue, the easy shape, the beaded detail, and the matching tassel tie belt! And it’s super comfortable!

Wearing:

indigo printed midi dress (c/o),

natural woven low heel sandals, blue earrings

Like I said, the new resort arrivals are amazing right now and here are a dozen of my favorites!

How sleep is this swimsuit? Sort of obsessed and it comes in this gorgeous pink shade as well. And with this cover up! I’d like to live in this white dress. And a cute romper comes in handy for so many events (biking, music festivals, barbecues…)!

Anyone else spending a little extra time perusing party dresses this week. I know I have. Nothing brings me more joy than shopping for a party (or a vacation) dress! This new black dress with metallic dot puff sleeves by GMG is the best little fit and flare shape, and I love the scallop detail.

I’ve had these Santa cocktail glasses for a few years now and every December I pull them out and keep them out on our bar. Just a fun little festive touch.

Don’t be tardy to the party. I’ll take any excuse to throw on any of these fun frocks. I’m especially feeling this gorgeous wrap dress. And this dress somehow didn’t make it into the collage but it’s super cute.

Sponsored by Nordstrom and ShopStyle.

December is easily my favorite (and busiest) month of the year. I just love everything about the holidays, especially all of our family traditions. Each year we get a new set of family pajamas, and this year I ordered these grey plaid flannel pajamas.

I love a good holiday party or dinner out as much as the next person, but staying home in my cozy pajamas watching holiday movies and eating popcorn is all that I truly want to do. Our favorite family holiday movies include the new Grinch, Elf, Home Alone, and The Polar Express. And it just isn’t Christmas if I don’t watch Love Actually and Christmas Vacation (after the kids are in bed, of course).

I found these flannel pajamas in the Nordstrom Made section on their site. This is where you can find all the brands created by Nordstrom for you specifically, with fashion and value in mind! You probably know of a lot of the brands already, like Halogen, Chelsea28, and BP. The Nordstrom Made section is also where you will find all of Nordstrom’s amazing collaborations with inspiring bloggers like Atlantic Pacific, Something Navy, and Rachel Parcell.

I included these butter crew socks I’m wearing in one of my gift guides, and let me tell you they really are the softest socks of all time. They come in a lot of colors, too. Lilly’s wearing these cozy printed socks, and Fletcher is wearing these red plaid socks.

Another favorite family tradition that might be the most fun is our Elf on the Shelf, Buddy, that visits us each year. Every morning Lilly and Fletcher run downstairs to find him. It’s seriously the most joyful and amazing memory maker. The kids love leaving notes for him.

And what would December be without holiday baking?! Decorating sugar cookies is so much fun and the best family night in activity and the kids love it!

Shop Nordstrom’s Holiday Gift Guide and enjoy all of Nordstrom’s services (free shipping and returns, BOPUS, curbside pick up). And it’s a great time to join The Nordy Club and earn points on your purchases! It’s free to join, and you’ll gain exclusive access to Beauty & Style workshops, first to shop select brands, and more! Here are more of my favorite Nordstrom Made pieces! Just click on each item to go to product page.
