I’ve been cheating on ya’ll with another site. And while I’d love to keep all the juicy bits & bobs that I get over there to myself, I’m all about sharing the love (that is what this ol’ blog is all about anyway).

So with sharing in mind, I’m excited to introduce to you, Charleston Grit.

Brought to you by Charleston Magazine and kind of like their hip and edgy niece, Grit is a brand new compilation blog site consisting of local contributors. And as the editorial director Ellen McGauley says, “it’s a fresh, exciting concept to have a blog that focuses entirely around a city like Charleston and the voices in it”. I agree, and am so thrilled to be a part of it. You can find my Grit blogs here, but more importantly, reach the entire Grit site here. Because it’s serious awesome online commentary ranging in topics from wallpaper to food to sex. See, right up your alley. It’s good. And it’s already on my daily reading list (you all know this is saying a lot!). Check it out!

Gaaaaah. Need it all.

Orange Suede Loafers

Update: After lusting for about a week, I just ordered the peplum tank.
I mean, that’s a lasting wardrobe investment. :)

Plus, I figured I outta scoop mine up before ya’ll sold them out. Ya’ll are quick and sneaky like that…

Okay, so we’ve all seen my current master closet. Well in the new house I want to switch up the style. I’ve done the custom built in look and it’s really pretty, but I’m definitely leaning toward a more eclectic look this time around. Here are a few of the closets that I’m using as inspiration…

Sliding ladder…

Unique clothing racks…
Again, unique clothing rack and also furniture…

And glass cased goodies…

So get this, we have this sliding glass door cabinet that we currently use for books… (please excuse the disarray…)

Yep. That baby is going in the new master closet and will be home to my shoes and handbags. Diggity. But, I’m still up in the air on what I’ll use for hanging clothes. I have a few ideas, (painted pvc piping, z-racks, retail fixtures…) but would love for ya’ll to weigh in. Think inexpensive, ’cause this is on a budget ya’ll.

As many of you know I turned 30 last month. My birthday party was so awesome and I’m really thankful to Josh for working so hard on it (like 40 trips up and down the stairs and making a ton of lavender simple syrup). It was at my friend Sally Benedict’s studio and the space was incredible for a party.

The party was on St Patty’s night so Josh surprised me and wore a green bow tie. So cute. I ended up wearing the Tibi Arizona Slip Dress and my Valentino Rockstud heels (similar Valentino pair here).
We filled the place with about 45 of my beautiful friends.

We tried to keep things pretty easy and just had some appetizers passed around (like Callie’s biscuits). And we set up the bar right on one of the tables Sally uses for her paint supplies. I thought it looked awesome. Here’s the only picture I have of it.

And we had the bartender shaking up my favorite drink, lavender martinis, which I had in my hand the whole night. Ooops!
I feel so lucky to have so many awesome friends and family. Here’s to a new decade!

I’ve been rounding up prizes for Lilly and Fletcher’s Easter baskets. Fletcher (4 months old now!) is pretty much just getting pajamas and a book, but it’s fun to get more creative with older kids’ baskets. Here are some Easter bunny goodies that I think would make any kid (and parent) happy to find.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And I recently took the kids on a little picnic. I saw this adorable idea to fill plastic eggs with your child’s favorite snacks and I just knew Lilly would love it. It would be fun to incorporate an egg hunt with this idea too, but I didn’t have the resources to pull that off as it was just me and the kids at a park.
It was awesome up until the bugs started biting Lilly and Fletcher started wailing. But hey, I tried.
Check out the original idea at Brandy’s Crafts.
