Do you adore Calypso St. Barth as much as I do? I was thrilled when I heard that they were expanding to include Charleston in their list of brick and mortar stores. Well the opening party was last night (sorry no pictures this time, I wasn’t feel especially social and played hookie and went out for fondue with a friend instead). But I did happen to drive by the party on my way to the restaurant and it looked beautiful and happening. Dying to get in there. They opened up just in time for wardrobe selections for Spoleto Festival (which is pretty much Charleston’s biggest and best festival with party after party that you want to look good for)! Good timing, I say :)

Hard to say which I like better: their clothing or their home collection. All fabulous. Regardless, I’m just glad I no longer have to stalk their website and can just hop into their new shop on King St.

Is that I want to spend all of my money there.

I really, really think that my kitchen needs these batik serving utensils.
As Leif’s owner Stacy says, “the devil is in the details”.

Such a fun post today. Jess Davis is here to tell us about her Nest Studio Hardware line. Her lucite pieces have been making their way around the web (and I dream of putting them in my new home). Now get your first sneak peek at her upcoming tortoiseshell pieces that are in the works!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hey y’all! (I feel like since Chassity’s from the south, I have to bring out a little of my Texan twang).  Thanks so much for having me over to Look Linger Love today.  I’m Jess Davis from the Eagle’s Nest.  I’m an interior designer by day, and blogger / product designer / mom oustside of work.  Some of you may have seen my Nest Studio Hardware line that I launched recently.
I’m super excited about it and working on getting the e-commerce site up and running in the next couple of months so that all of you guys out there can purchase my hardware directly.  In the meantime, I’m here to give you guys a sneak peek of my newest series.  Called metro, it’s inspired by the sort of joinery you see on the handrails on subways and busses.  I’m hoping to add a little mensware flair by mixing the brass with a classic tortoiseshell.  Below are a few little illustrations I did.
I’m also doing a line with brass and leather (leatha!) inspired by old school luggage. Can’t wait to get that one started.  Be on the lookout for that coming up, as well as other Nest Studio collaborations.  As always, I’d love any input and feedback from all you readers out there. Thanks so much Chassity for having me over!
So, what say you? Have any feedback or thoughts to share with Jess? I LOVE it. And am dying to see the leather + brass pieces!
Oh man I’m still a tizzy over the awesomeness that was Hampden Clothing’s 5 year anniversary extravaganza. To celebrate the achievement Hampden’s owner, Stacy Smallwood, invited Rag & Bone’s designing duo David Neville and Marcus Wainwright to Charleston for a little 2 day part-ay!
Why Rag & Bone? Because Stacy’s been carrying them since the beginning of Hampden’s days. And they are her most popular brand among her loyal shoppers. I’m not surprised. So it was a real treat to have them in town for a few days. And following a private shopping day with the designers, Stacy threw a beachside bbq at her family home on the Isle of Palms with Marcus and David as the guests of honor. Every detail was considered from the Firefly vodka (a local favorite) to the live music down to the parting gift bags.
 You know, just hanging with David Neville…
Trust me, the party was so good that nobody wanted to leave. But there was an important show to put on the next morning. The re-staging of Rag & Bone’s Spring 2012 runway show. At Westbrook Brewery no less. Very cool location. And I arrived early to snap some behind the scenes shots for you all.
And I had to get some street styles for ya’ll. Because the Charleston ladies brought it!
Gorgeous, right? And then there was the show.
It was incredible. And it was followed by shopping (the entire spring collection) with the designers. I scored some gorgeous mustard zipper capri jeans. Loves. (Hampden still has some Rag & Bone jeans in store, but not the mustard, all sold out folks).
Like I said, it was an incredible celebration and I’m so fortunate to have been a part of it. Congratulations on 5 successful years of outfitting Charleston’s (and beyond) hippest ladies, Stacy. What a moment you’re having! Enjoy every second of it! xoxo
I’m so, so honored to be featured in Skirt! Magazine’s April issue. I’m a long time fan of Skirt! and their girl power mentality, so to be a part of this month’s pages is pretty exciting.
Skirt’s editor, Margaret Pilarsky, and photographer Alice Keeney met me in downtown Charleston for the photoshoot story. We had such a fun time together (they are seriously cool girls). In the pictures I’m wearing the Hewes Top and Willoughby Skirt from my friend Lindsay Carter’s line, Troubadour. Her whole spring line is crazy gorgeous.
You can read the story here! Thanks so much for the wonderful article, Margaret!
