As y’all know I’m not a Martha Stewart type, so I avoid the laundry room as much as I can (which btw doesn’t really work considering we’re a family of four…). Our laundry room is quite small, so attempting to keep it neat and clean is my best hope. I love simple white walls, so I’ve kept this space all white to balance the chaos of laundry piles that naturally appear.

The DIY copper clothing rod my husband hung (see that tutorial here) is useful for hanging our clothes that I don’t want to put in the dryer. We ditched the bottom drawers of our washer and dryer (you know those optional pieces for storage) so that we could build a low counter reaching over the machines for a work space. I like marble, and since it’s such a small space we were able to find an inexpensive polished remnant. I also knew that I needed a deep sink for soaking and washing. It’s small, but it meets our needs. (news flash, I don’t hand wash many of our clothes.)

(excuse the paint splatters, we wash the kids’ paintbrushes here)

Having a small basket in the laundry room is helpful for all the occasional things I find like socks and stuff from my kids’ pockets. And those huggable hangers – I swear by them!

Sponsored quick tip: I use Clorox Bleach Packs to keep my whites white. They’re just like the little dishwasher packs that I use – I just quickly toss a pack in the drum before I start the wash. And these little packs ensure that I don’t accidentally bleach the outfit that I’m wearing (or anything that is in the vicinity) since they’re all wrapped up neatly. Brilliant!

If y’all have any more laundry room tips for small spaces I’d love to hear them! And for anyone wondering, my sweater dress is available here!

Haha! I just noticed you said that it was polished marble in your post. Thanks again for the reply!

Hi Amy, yep I put the detergent in it’s usual spot, and then I toss one of the bleach packs directly into the the drum with the laundry. I use one in regular and smaller loads, and I put two in really big loads. Hope that helps!

    Thanks Anne! It’s polished marble.

  5. Amy says:

Do you use the bleach packs in addition to the laundry detergent? And are you using them for full loads or smaller ones too?

  6. Anne says:

love the sweater dress! Random question- what are the countertops? Marble? Quartz? Thanks!

    It’s about 4 years old and I can’t remember! I’m so sorry!

Where is the cute basket on the dryer from?

Seriously! This is my first post on my blog for a cleaning product (little off topic) but after they had me try them I liked them so much that I was like, yeah I’ll spread the word on these! :)

I need to try these packs! Seems way more efficient than pouring cups of it in the load!
