Good morning! Today I’m cleaning up my desk space on my laptop and sharing a round up of all the fun things I’ve discovered lately! Interiors, holiday, fashion, kids finds… So many fun things!
You know you’re getting older when you prefer a night in to a night out. I LOVE to get out, don’t get me wrong. Trying new restaurants, going to old favorites, throwing on heels, catching up with friends… But these days I prefer my nights in to my nights out. I’m pretty low key and just need something cozy to wear, my couch, and netflix/hulu or a great book. But sometimes it’s nice to make it a little more…. more. And today I’m sharing a few ideas to do that!
True Botanicals Mask – My favorite mask of all my masks. I’ve been using this one for over a year and use it at least once a week. It’s the best.
Pillow Protector – As someone who suffers from serious allergies, I can totally get behind the pros of using a pillow protector for a healthier night’s sleep. Heck my kids could use them, too!
Green PJ Set – Part of Lake’s new fall arrivals, I love this shade of green but I love the fabric even more. I have these in a light pink and they feel like heaven.
Chinese Checkers – A marble set that doubles as decor, and one of the most fun games. Fletcher loves playing this.
Dream Decoder Cards – Okay these are so fun. Ever woken up and wondered what that dream meant? ALL the time. Now you can pull out these cards and decode your dreams!! I know, technically these aren’t for a “night” in.
Blue Seagrass Glassware – My favorite glasses always and forever. Cocktails taste better in them, trust me.
Flour Shop’s Explosion Cake Collection – Since every night in is better with snacks… I know you’ve seen these gorgeous explosion cakes on instagram. Well the maker/founder/artist Amirah Kassem has launched a whole colorful collection so that you can make your own! There are super fun sprinkles, cake mix, frosting, decorating gel, colorful mixing bowls and utensils… You get the idea. Would be so fun to make with kids!
I’ve noticed that a lot of the new pieces I’ve been saving have a little color theme happening. It looks like maybe, just maybe, I am actually almost ready for fall! Here are a few fall finds great for home, entertaining, to gift, or to wear!
Camel Cocoon Coat – A classic cozy wind blocker to stay wrapped up in all season long.
Woven Slate Green Bag – Now how great is this muted yet rich color?? This little crossbody is the perfect bag for a new season, and it’s under $100!!
Denim Look Sweatshirt Dress – This dress looks like denim but is actually cozy and comfy. I love the drawstring funnel neck and the front pockets. Would be super cute with sneakers (I just ordered this pair)!
Pinecone Wreath – Does anyone else get excited the most excited about porch and door decor this time of year compared to the rest of the year? This new wreath is totally catching my eye!
Cognac Leather Lace Up Boots – They NAILED this shade of cognac. These boots have the perfect block heel to be paired with jeans, dresses, and skirts.
Cheese Box Grater – I know, a cheese grater Chassity? But this time of year we’re grating parm on all the pastas and soups and this one is so beautiful. It would make a great gift, too.
Last week we spent a long weekend at Montage Palmetto Bluff, one of my most favorite places in the world. We were there for the May River Music Festival, a 3 night concert series benefiting the conservancy at Palmetto Bluff.
We’ve been going to Palmetto Bluff for 8 years now. It’s one of our most loved family spots for a relaxed getaway. The kids adore it too, but this time is was just Josh and me.
Palmetto Bluff is set along the May River, and is speckled with adorable cottages! This one was our’s right on the water, and it had the most spectacular back yard and view. Absolute heaven. We sat on our screen porch a few times every day! The weather was perfect.
The first night of the May River Music Festival was sort of like a live band karaoke situation. It was seriously so fun and they should do it every weekend. You could request songs to hear, songs to sing, even songs to play yourself. I couldn’t help myself and got up there for one song, too. I sang Pontoon, by Little Big Town.
The music festival was only during the evenings, so we had the days to relax and explore. One of my favorite things we did was go for a cruise on their antique yacht, Grace. She’s over 100 years old and is a true beauty.
Since the last time we were at Palmetto Bluff there have been a few new openings. One of my favorites is Fore & Aft. It’s a great poolside mexican restaurant right on the lagoon. We ordered chorizo nachos and fish tacos.
Bike riding around the property and just exploring is definitely my favorite thing to do at PB. The bike trails are endless and I love looking at all the houses.
The second night of the May River Music Festival was waterside on the lawn at Mooreland. This concert space totally blew me away. It was dripping with starry string lights and all the trees were the perfect backdrop. We got a picnic basket with fried chicken from Cole’s, the restaurant right there at Mooreland, and watched the show!
I did a little shopping over the weekend, too. I bought this painting below by Joanna Hickey at a cute shop on property called The Paris Market. It was super cool, and they have another store in Savannah.
This little duffy boat with it’s striped canopy makes me happy every time that I see it. It shuttles people from the Inn over to The Canoe Club for dinner. So fun.
Palmetto Bluff is all about community and bringing people together, so there is no shortage of things to do there. Pickleball, tennis, bowling, golf, water activities, the pools, equestrian, the shooting club, biking…
And one of my favorite things to do, the spa!! I managed to squeeze in a massage.
Quick selfie before the last night of the music festival!
Saturday night was definitely my favorite night of all. It took place right on the main lawn by the River House. This was the first May River Music Festival, and they expect to bring it back each year. It benefits The Conservancy at Palmetto Bluff. Below I’m pictured with Jay Walea, he’s the Director of the Palmetto Bluff Conservancy and he is pretty much the heart of the Bluff. Josh and I spent a day with Jay a couple of years back exploring the far reach corners of Palmetto Bluff, (did you know that it’s 20,000 acres?)! It was great to get to see him again and be here for this inaugural fundraiser!
Ben Rector was the headliner Saturday night. I didn’t know of Ben before but I am a huge fan now. He was incredible to watch!!
The square was filled with local food trucks, and we ran into a few Charleston people there as well! It was such a great night to end a fantastic weekend! After the show we made s’mores at the fire pits.
And because the People at Montage Palmetto Bluff are so amazing, they’re offering us a discount code for you to come visit! Use the code “LOOKLINGERLOVE” for 20% off Montage Palmetto Bluff’s best available rate plus 2 complimentary bicycles for the duration of your stay! Trust me, you’ll see why it’s so special!!
Thank you to Montage Palmetto Bluff for partnering on this post.
