If you follow my instagrams then you couldn’t have missed the breathtaking images I shared from my stay at Zero George a week or so ago. Zero George is a luxury boutique hotel in downtown Charleston that just opened in February of this year. But it’s hardly new and showy. Each of Zero George’s 18 well appointed studios and suites are situated in the most quaint and romantic courtyard comprised of carriage houses and residences that are circa 1804. The rooms are beautiful and contemporary and juxtapose the period architecture that the hotel preserves. In other words, it’s purely delightful.

Thank you to Zero George for inviting us for a stay, we had such a nice date night. I had claimed on my Charleston Guide that Zero George was my favorite hotel in town, but I hadn’t actually stayed there myself. Now I can officially say that it is my favorite. And that’s saying a lot in a town like this.

Hey Guys – I’m partnering up with The Land of Nod, along with a small handful of others across the country, to host a Holiday Pop Up Shop on November 21st. It will be an intimate and magical party in my garden (read festive back patio).

I would LOVE to include some of you! If you’re here in Charleston, or plan to be on November 21st, and want to knock out some early holiday shopping with me let me know and I would be happy to have you over. The guest list will be quite limited so if you want to attend please email me asap at Chassity@looklingerlove.com. Background checks may apply (joking), but obviously if you’re creepy please don’t email me (duh).

We’ll eat and drink and be merry. Expect lots of twinkle lights.

Warning… this is a heavy one.

I’m a couple of days late for the “national pregnancy and infant remembrance day” and a couple of years late on opening up to y’all, but I don’t think that matters. Today I want to take a moment to remember the babies who never had the chance to be held. Two of these babies are mine.

It’s not that I’ve kept these losses to myself. I have no problem telling friends or even strangers about my experiences. I’m probably the girl that just comes out with it so quick that people don’t know how to respond. But I’m open about my miscarriages because I want women to understand how much it does happen and that it’s okay to talk about it. So why haven’t I talked about it here? I really don’t know… it never felt like the right time to write it I guess what in between fashion posts and what not. Plus putting something like that out there in writing is harder than a face to face conversation. But I always knew I would open up about it, for me as much as for you. I know there are many of you out there who have experienced troubles getting pregnant, miscarriages, or even lost children. And my heart hurts for each of you and your stories. In between Lilly and Fletcher we had two miscarriages. Both were pretty early, around 8 weeks. Both were unexpected and heartbreaking. A dear friend of mine kindly told me that time would help lesson the pain. That has been true for me. Of course one never fully heals from the loss of a child even if you never met him. And the grief can hit anytime. I remember watching the movie The Help for the first time. I had read the book and knew it was coming, but still the miscarriage scene was nearly unbearable to sit through without breaking. I don’t like to break in public.

But as well all know life isn’t always fair. We have to live with the good and the bad and take like as it comes. God has blessed Josh and me beyond belief with Lilly and Fletcher. We have a beautiful life. For that I am grateful every single hour of every single day.

It’s been awhile since I’ve written about Plum Pretty Sugar so it feels all new to me again. I visited their site yesterday and was oohing and awing on repeat. The collection has expanded from feminine robes to girly apparel, children’s, and interiors.

The home line is flat out enchanting from the curtains to the shams to the bedding. Don’t pretend like you don’t want a duvet.

Love the idea of the bridal party wearing robes to get ready in. The pictures would be amazing and would make for a lovely gift your friends would love.

Wedding season is in high swing here in Charleston, what with the temps graciously starting to dip a little. (Josh and I got married in November – who else has fall anniversaries?) One of my favorite spots to shop for the bride and groom is at Target. A few reasons… Target’s registry is super easy to work with, most everyone has a store nearby, and they have a great selection. And oh yeah, I’m a mom so i’m there ALL THE TIME. That’s okay though, I genuinely enjoy looking through all the departments and walking out much poorer than when I came in. Who else finds way more things in Target than they originally stopped in for?

So when Target contacted me to interpret their wedding theme of “Be Yourself, Together” I was totally game. Being married for nearly 7 years (no itch yet) it didn’t take me long to realize that it’s imperative to learn how to live with each other’s differences and celebrate our individuality. So why not keep this important lesson in mind when sending my best buds off to their own marital bliss? Plus, it just makes the shopping and gifting that much more fun, personal, and memorable.

For this project I used a real life couple that I know as my source of inspiration. My friend Amy is a creature of habit type who is very organized, but her fiancé Aaron is a globe trotter thanks to his job. Don’t worry, they balance each other out and are very happy together. So I was thinking a great gift pairing for them would be some Swissgear Luggage and huggable hangers.

Are you with me still? The Swissgear luggage is a great pick because it’s nice looking, good quality, and has ideal features. The huggable hangers are perfect because they fit right inside making packing for trips easy and fast…

And they’ll look fabulous in the new closet that the couple has learn to share. Win Win.
