What a year 2018 turned out to be. Personally, mine was filled with a lot of amazing highs and then some pretty low lows. I learned a lot and grew as a person. I came to truly understand the fact that in the end you have to live with yourself and and make the right decisions for you and your family, even if that means not pleasing others. I’ll be taking this mantra into 2019.

Today I want to celebrate some of those amazing moments of 2018, so here are my favorite blog posts of the year!

Porch Swing Makeover with Serena & Lily

Our porch swing got a fun update and became our favorite place to hang! And I could put these raffia pillows everywhere.

Harbour Island Girl’s Trip Recap:

We had the best time and all of these photos make me so happy!

Mother’s Day With Framebridge:

I loved framing my kid’s pieces and adding them to our art collection! If you’re looking for the perfect frame, this one is my all time favorite.

Tuckernuck Lifestyle Feature:

Tuckernuck came to Charleston and my friends and I got to show them around for their March Lifestyle Guide!

Reading List:

I read SO many great books this year and sharing them with y’all is half of the fun! The book All We Ever Wanted was my favorite book of 2018.

Lilly’s Bedroom Makeover:

Lilly’s bedroom got a colorful update and I’m basically jealous of how pretty it is. I’m obsessed with her rug.

Dream Registry Ideas:

This was so fun to dream up what I would register today if I could do it all over! I love this strawberry melamine set!

Charlottesville Virginia Trip Recap:

I LOVED my trip to Charlottesville and discovering what an amazing town it is! And I also love my blue dress I wore.

Yoga Lessons With Lilly:

This blog post combined two of my favorite things – exercising with my kids and our new home gym that we got this year! And these leggings feel like butter.

Beauty Update:

I’m always looking for beauty products that get the job done with an emphasis on clean ingredients (when possible). Still love all of these and use them every day, especially this!

Coral House Home Feature in Coastal Living Magazine:

This was so big for me you guys. It felt so amazing to see all of our hard work for Coral House featured in one of my most favorite magazines.

Harbour Island Trip Recap:

Yes I know I already did one of these but this one was pretty special to me too. It started off with Josh, then my best high school buds came, and it was when the Coastal Living shoot happened.

My Top 10 Recent Amazon Orders:

And they’re still favorites! So many great ideas here. Like these

Custom Coral House Playing Cards:

I loved partnering with Peeps Paper Products for a custom card deck for Coral House guests!

Bathroom Makeover With Serena & Lily:

If there’s one place in my house that can use a regular refresh it’s the bathrooms, and this partnership with Serena & Lily turned our master bathroom into one of my favorite spaces in our home. These towels are amazing, you guys.

I have to cut it off somewhere so I’ll cut it off here. 2018, you were pretty awesome all in all. Thank you for so many joys. And from the bottom of my heart thank you to each of you for reading Look Linger Love and sharing this space with me. It wouldn’t be the same without all of you. This blog means so much to me, I love writing it. And I love you all!

I’ve been cheating on ya’ll with another site. And while I’d love to keep all the juicy bits & bobs that I get over there to myself, I’m all about sharing the love (that is what this ol’ blog is all about anyway).

So with sharing in mind, I’m excited to introduce to you, Charleston Grit.

Brought to you by Charleston Magazine and kind of like their hip and edgy niece, Grit is a brand new compilation blog site consisting of local contributors. And as the editorial director Ellen McGauley says, “it’s a fresh, exciting concept to have a blog that focuses entirely around a city like Charleston and the voices in it”. I agree, and am so thrilled to be a part of it. You can find my Grit blogs here, but more importantly, reach the entire Grit site here. Because it’s serious awesome online commentary ranging in topics from wallpaper to food to sex. See, right up your alley. It’s good. And it’s already on my daily reading list (you all know this is saying a lot!). Check it out!

Many of you may have guessed who today’s guest feature is after last night’s hint.  Daniella, of Dress, Design & Decor, hardly even needs an introduction.  Her blog is an absolute daily must read for me and for so many others.  Her writing sets a mood of calm elegance and she always (always!) has the most lovely images.  I was dying to get a little peak into Daniella’s life, and the collection of beauties and spaces she’s sharing today fit her like a glove.  She is, indeed, classy and fabulous.

Hi everyone! Daniella here from Dress, Design & Decor and so happy to be sharing a few of my favourite things from home today. I have yet to decorate (decisions, decisions…) but I’m a huge fan of crisp, clean white so it’s quite suiting for now!

1. I absolutely adore my bright bedroom with windows looking out onto the balcony. It’s nice to wake up with light streaming in, in a warm, cozy bed. Especially now that Winter is settling in. The pendant lights that hang over my beside tables are also a favourite of mine… something different from table lamps!

2. Books and magazines are strewn all over my home! I love fashion and lifestyle books, along with interior design of course. My favourites being about all things french! “Book clutter” is definitely welcome in my home. One of these days I hope to have a library room where I can relax and read with a good cup of tea.

3. In the main living area I have floor-to-ceiling windows with a great view. It’s really my favourite part of my home! In the Summer it’s all bright green trees, beautiful colours in the Fall, and magical when it’s snowing in the Winter!

4. Candles are a must have for every home. I received this Voluspa candle as a gift recently and absolutely love the smell and flickering light. There’s something about candles that’s just so calming, don’t you think?

5. In the past fews years i’ve been collecting quite a few little vintage treasures. I love this siamese kitty ring holder of my Mother’s… and I found this pretty, pink perfume bottle just last week. The atomizer still works too! I also collect old novels and silverware with mother-of-pearl handles. I think it’s nice to treasure items with so much elegant detail.

Thank you so much to Daniella for opening up her beautiful home to us.  If Dress, Design & Decor is not already on your reading list, I’m sure it will be now.  Hmmm…  now if only I could get Daniella to share her favorite things in her closet!!  Wink, wink.

I’m signing off for a few days to spend some time with my family over the holiday.  But I can’t leave you all without giving every last one of you a big big big hug!!  I’m thankful for so many things in my life, including all of you.  I started up this blog less than 3 months ago and had no idea how much it would mean to me.  Your support, daily visits, comments, and emails brighten my day.   For that, I thank you from the very bottom of my heart.  I also have to give it up to my fellow bloggers who have supported my humble site and welcomed me into the community.  I’ll forever be thankful for your link-overs, guest posts, and reading list additions.

My plan for the next few days is to eat without abandon and catch up with some family that I don’t see nearly as often as I would like.  I’ll also have my 10 year high school reunion thrown in the mix, too.

Enjoy the week my friends.  XO.

PS.  I’m participating in another one of Pretty Mommy’s recipe exchanges.  This one focuses on yummy holiday inspired dishes.  Be sure to check out Torrie’s turkey gumbo recipe and Michelle’s cranberry bread.  Perfect for those thanksgiving leftovers.

There are some things you use over and over day after day that just make things so-much-better. It was hard to narrow this list down to just 5. I left out the obvious ones like my iphone and mac computer and tv. Weeded out other faves like my favorite hair device and my trusted face mask, and was left with these 5:

This portable charger power bank is truly one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. It has three different cables and charges basically everything. Everyone in my family uses this thing and not just during travel. This will be the best holiday gift for literally anyone on your list (and dirty santa parties!)! It’s on sale right now for only $25 and comes in 6 different colors!

I’ve had my Kindle paperwhite reader for probably 15 years and I can’t imagine life without it. I read every single night and the battery lasts for soooo long. I love that I can read in a dark room and not disturb Josh sleeping next to me. And I love that I can just browse and download new books in seconds – makes finding and reading books so easy. You can also be on a sunny beach and thanks to the paperwhite technology have a crystal clear non glare screen! By the way, after all these years Kindle just launched their new Colorsoft Kindle with a color screen which is pretty cool!

Okay this one is big and splurgy. My Peloton treadmill is one of my favorite things. I’m SO happy I bought one. I’m a peloton girl (we have the bike and I stream their strength and pilates classes regularly) so I really wanted to stick in the family with my treadmill. I love the instructors but I also love to pull up Netflix on the large screen and just walk and watch. For a more budget friendly option this walking pad has crazy good reviews and is 50% off right now for only $125! And this classic treadmill has great reviews, too!

I bought this electric water kettle two and a half years ago and I’ve used it every single morning ever since. I’ll make instant coffee (thanks for the tip Bethenny Frankel) or matcha (this one is my fave) or tea! It’s so handy.

Last but not least my 2-in-1 steamer iron! This baby is super power and I use it all the time. I mostly use it as classic steamer on hanging clothes but it works really well on a flat surfaces as an iron, too!! Some steamers don’t get the job done but this one is legit.

Have a must have item, share in the comments!

This Campagnie De Provence hand wash is my personal favorite! It comes in a glass bottle so it feels and looks super luxurious. This would be such a nice hostess gift!

Okay the Nuface facial toning device is as good as you’ve heard. I can see a visible difference right after I use it. I’m more lifted, sculpted, and appear more awake. Highly recommend!
